Dalam bahasa Inggris, perubahan dari bentuk pertama ke bentuk kedua melibatkan aturan yang cukup rinci, mulai dari tense, kata ganti, hingga keterangan waktu dan tempat. Yuk, pelajari cara mengubah direct speech menjadi indirect speech langkah demi langkah.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Apa Itu Direct dan Indirect Speech?<\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Direct speech menyampaikan kata-kata pembicara persis seperti yang diucapkan, ditulis di dalam tanda kutip. Contoh: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She said, &#8220;I exercise every day.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Indirect speech (disebut juga <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reported speech<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) menyampaikan isi ucapan tanpa kutipan langsung, biasanya dalam klausa yang dihubungkan dengan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dengan penyesuaian pada kata ganti, tense, dan keterangan waktu atau tempat. Contoh: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She said that she exercised every day.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tiga Perubahan Utama<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Menurut berbagai materi tata bahasa, konversi direct ke indirect speech pada dasarnya membutuhkan tiga penyesuaian:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kata ganti (pronoun) disesuaikan dengan sudut pandang pelapor.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tense digeser mundur (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">backshift<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) bila kata kerja pelapor berada dalam bentuk lampau.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keterangan waktu dan tempat disesuaikan dengan konteks pelaporan.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Perubahan Kata Ganti<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kata ganti berubah mengikuti siapa yang berbicara dan siapa yang job.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Perubahan Tense (Backshift)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jika kata kerja pelapor (reporting verb) seperti <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> berada dalam bentuk lampau, tense di dalam kutipan umumnya bergeser satu tingkat ke 400;\">Kata kerja modal <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">could, should, would, might, ought to, used to<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> pada umumnya tidak berubah.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kapan Tense Tidak Perlu Digeser?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bila kata kerja pelapor dalam bentuk simple present atau future. Contoh: <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He says, &#8220;I am tired.&#8221;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He says that he is tired.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bila isi ucapan adalah kebenaran umum atau fakta yang masih berlaku. Kata <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sering dapat dihilangkan.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;I am busy today,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He said (that) he was busy that day.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;We will help you,&#8221; they told me.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They told me (that) they would help me.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pertanyaan Ya\/Tidak (Yes\/No Questions)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gunakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asked + if\/whether<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Susunan kata berubah menjadi susunan kalimat pernyataan (bukan susunan pertanyaan), dan tanda tanya dihilangkan.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Do you like coffee?&#8221; she asked.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She asked if I liked coffee.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Have you finished?&#8221; he asked.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He asked whether I had finished.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pertanyaan dengan Kata Tanya (Wh-Questions)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gunakan kata tanya yang sama (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">what, where, why, when, how<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) tanpa tambahan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dengan susunan kata pernyataan. Hilangkan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">do\/does\/did<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Where do you live?&#8221; he asked.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He asked where I lived.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Why is she crying?&#8221; they asked.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2192 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They asked why she was crying.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kesalahan umum adalah mempertahankan susunan pertanyaan, misalnya <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He asked where was she<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Bentuk yang benar adalah <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He asked where she was<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perintah dan Permintaan (Commands and Requests)<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gunakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">told\/asked + objek + to-infinitive<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Untuk bentuk larangan, gunakan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">not to<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Close the door,&#8221; tense tidak perlu digeser.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pilihan Reporting Verb<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Selain <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">said<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">told<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">asked<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, ada banyak reporting verb yang memberi nuansa lebih tepat, seperti <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">replied, explained, admitted, suggested, advised, warned, promised,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dan <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">requested<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;You should see a doctor,&#8221;
