Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) agreed to enter into a cooperation agreement with Dhurakij Pundit University (DPU), Thailand, to improve the quality of education, research, and community service.<\/p>\n

The cooperation agreement (MoU) was signed by the Rector of UMSU, represented by Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, as Deputy Rector II at the DPU Campus in Bangkok, Thailand, Friday (28\/10).<\/p>\n

The MoU activity, structured with the 2022 Call For Paper The 9th International Conference on Community Development (ICCD-9), presented five lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Religion UMSU as presenters. Among the lecturers, Dr. Arwin Juli Rakhmadi, S.Hi, M.A, Dr. Munawir Pasaribu, S.Pd.I, M.A Robie Fanreza, S.PdI., M.PdI, Nurman Ginting, S.PdI., M.PdI, Riyan Pradesyah. S.E.Sy., M.E.I.<\/p>\n

According to Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. Akrim, MPd, signing the MoU text between UMSU and DPU, Thailand, is part of UMSU’s efforts to continue to build partners to realize the vision of campus internationalization. In addition, UMSU continues to strive to expand its international cooperation network, especially with campuses in ASEAN countries, because they have many similarities, so it can be easier to apply agreed points of cooperation.<\/p>\n

“UMSU will continue to work on developing cooperation with campuses, especially within ASEAN countries, because it is relatively more possible to realize agreed points of cooperation,” he said.<\/p>\n

Based on records, DPU Thailand is one of the open campuses and has collaborated with campuses in Indonesia. 55 Indonesian educational institutions have joined MoUs with the DPU to strengthen education, research, and community service.<\/p>\n

On that occasion, Prof. Akrim hopes that the signing of the MoU for UMSU and DPU Thailand can be followed up with the realization of activities at the university, faculty, and study program levels.
