\nThe Head of the Observatory for Astronomy at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (OIF UMSU), namely Dr. Arwin Juli Rakhmadi Butar-Butar, MA, together with other lecturers from the Faculty of Islamic Religion, participated in the 2022 Call For Paper The 9th International Conference on Community Development (ICCD-9) with the theme “Challenges of Community Development in a Disruptive Era” held in Bangkok-Thailand 28 October 2022.<\/p>\n

Dr. Arwin raised the title Zij Ulugh Bek and His Influence on Islamic Astronomy Development in the Archipelago. In his presentation, Dr. Arwin revealed that Ulugh Bek’s Islamic Astronomy scientific network is connected to the Archipelago.

\n“Ulugh Bek’s Islamic Astronomy scientific network is connected through the Haramain route, where several Islamic astronomer scholars and national figures studied his book, then brought and spread it to the archipelago,” he said
\n.
\nDr. Arwin also explained that Islamic studies in the Archipelago often refer to and quote Zij Ulugh Bek.
\n“Zij Ulugh Bek & Archipelago Islamic Astronomy Significantly Influenced. Islamic Science in the Archipelago refers a lot to and quotes Zij Ulugh Bek, the main source for the development of the study of Islamic Astronomy in the Archipelago and accurate astronomical data that is still suitable for use today.” Obviously<\/p>\n
