So it is no wonder many people want to know how to deal with persistent hiccups.<\/p>\n<p>Hiccups are the result of sudden contractions of the diaphragm muscles. The sound produced by hiccups occurs when the vocal cords close during the contraction of these muscles. Factors that cause hiccups are mostly related to diet but can also be caused by changes in weather. Although this condition is prevalent, some people do not know what causes hiccups and how to deal with them. Therefore, you can eliminate hiccups by holding your breath for a few seconds. After enough, you can exhale again. Then, when hiccups come, you can swallow them with air. Repeat this several times until the hiccups go away.<\/li>\n<li>SITTING AND LEVING FORWARD ON THE KNEE<br \/>\nAnother way to eliminate hiccups is to sit with your legs bent, then bring your legs to your chest and hug them with both hands. Next, lean forward to apply pressure to the diaphragm area. Do this for a few minutes until the hiccups go away.<\/li>\n<li>SUCKING LEMON FRUIT<br \/>\nSucking on a lemon seems like a way to eliminate hiccups you can try at home. Vitamin C in lemons can overcome the blockage of the vagus nerve that causes hiccups, so if you slowly suck on a lemon, the hiccups will slowly stop.<\/li>\n<li>DRINK WARM WATER WITH HONEY<br \/>\nHow stop hiccups can also be done by drinking warm water by mixing it with a small quantity of honey. This is because honey and warm water can improve blood and oxygen circulation to meet the oxygen needs in the body.<br \/>\nMeanwhile, honey can reduce the activity of the vagus nerve. Provide warm water mixed with honey, then drink and hold your breath for a few seconds. After enough, you can exhale again while swallowing the warm water.
