The PP Muhammadiyah Law and Human Rights Council (MHH) held Regional Meetings throughout Sumatra and West Kalimantan at the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) Wednesday and Thursday, 5 to July 6, 2023. The activity was attended directly by the Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah, Dr. Busyro Muqoddas, S.H. M. Hum.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"At the opening ceremony for the activity, which was held at the Auditorium of the Main Campus of UMSU, Jalan Kapten Muktar Basri Medan, Wednesday (5\/7), the Chairman of MHH PP Muhammadiyah Dr. Trisno Raharjo SH MHum, Vice Chairman I Dr. Manager Nasution MH MA, several Expert Councils such as Dr. Bambang Widjojanto SH MSc, Feri Amsari SH MH LLM, Dr. Septa Candara SH MH and Chair and Secretary of MHH PWM in Sumatra and West Kalimantan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by several notable figures, including the PWM Chairperson for North Sumatra, the PWA Chairperson for North Sumatra, the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP, Vice Rectors II, and III – Prof. Dr. Akrim MPd and Dr. Rudianto MSi respectively, the Director of Bank North Sumatra, Babay Parid Wazdi, as well as numerous UMSU Law Faculty students and deans.<\/span><\/p>\n

In his report, the Chairman of the UMSU Law Faculty Dean Committee, Dr. Faisal SH MHum, said that the recent portrait of the Indonesian legal world looks bleak, chaotic, and dim. The gloom is related to law enforcement, and the legislative process is also under much scrutiny because it is allegedly morally flawed. After all, it does not accommodate the provisions in the rules for forming legislation formed by the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is out of concern at seeing the dismal condition of the national legal world that we are gathered here in the Regional Meeting Forum of Legal and Human Rights Councils throughout Sumatra and West Kalimantan. In this forum, we will discuss various important, crucial, and newest issues related to legal issues in this republic,”<\/span><\/p>\n

“We hope that this forum can carry out an in-depth study and produce enlightening points of view so that later it can be formulated as a statement of attitude as well as a recommendation for Muhammadiyah’s contribution to improving our current legal world,” said Faisal.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"In his remarks, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP expressed his pride that UMSU had been trusted as the venue for the PP Muhammadiyah Law and Human Rights Council Regional Meeting in Sumatra and West Kalimantan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Agussani expressed his honor and pride in Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara being selected to host the MHH Regional Meeting across Sumatra and West Kalimantan. He also committed that UMSU will remain prepared to support all activities that promote the message of the Muhammadiyah association.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully, this significant activity goes well and produces something beneficial for the improvement and enlightenment of the legal world in this country,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Then, the Chairman of the Law and Human Rights Council of PP Muhammadiyah, Dr. Trisno Rahardjo SH MHum, in his remarks, said that this Sumatran Regional Meeting was the first meeting agenda scheduled by MHH PP Muhammadiyah.<\/span><\/p>\n

“And God willing, after this, we will hold a Regional Meeting in Java, which MHH PWM will join throughout Java which is planned to be held at UMM Malang in November. Then we will carry out the rest, such as Kalimantan (outside West Kalimantan), Sulawesi, Bali, NTB, Maluku, and Papua after the Regional Meeting in Malang,” Trisno explained. We are, moreover, tabulating related legal issues in the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Busyro’s description, the MHH Regional Meeting is intended for “problem shopping” rather than problem-finding. This event aims to scrutinize and discuss legal matters within the regions, particularly in Sumatra, as well as those related to national legal issues.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, specifically during the current administration period, said Trisno, MHH, and the Institute for Wisdom and Public Policy (LHKP) agreed to concentrate on discussing issues related to the 2024 Election.<\/span><\/p>\n

“So at this regional meeting, one of the things we will talk about is elections. Including we will help LHKP to encourage Muhammadiyah cadres to get involved in politics and be able to contest in the 2024 elections,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"Furthermore, appearing as a keynote speaker, Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Dr. Busyro Muqoddas quoted 3 3 verses in the Qur’an, namely Surah Ibrahim verses 24, 25, and 26.<\/span><\/p>\n

The three verses read; (24) Do you not see how Allah has made a parable of a good sentence like a good tree, its roots strong and branches (towering) to the sky. (25) The tree produces its fruit at all times with the permission of its Lord. Furthermore, Allah made that parable for humans so that they always remember it. (26) And the parable of a wrong sentence is like a lousy tree whose roots have been uprooted from the earth’s surface; cannot stay (upright) one bit.<\/span><\/p>\n

“These three verses inspired what we have been doing in Muhammadiyah, including what has been done by Muhammadiyah’s Amal Usaha management,” said Busyro.<\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that these verses provide insights that inspire the methods and perspectives of thinking Burhani, Bayani, and Irfani.<\/span><\/p>\n

“These three perspectives of thinking shape us into perfect human beings. We will not achieve this degree of perfection if we do not utilize intuition, common sense, and a sincere appreciation for the verses of the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet,” he explained.<\/span><\/p>\n

“So, if you want to see the analogy of a good tree, then one of them is Muhammadiyah.<\/span><\/p>\n

The proof looks at the progress of Muhammadiyah, which currently has 172 tertiary institutions, 400 Islamic boarding schools, more than 28 thousand schools from PAU to senior high school levels, more than 500 hospitals and health centers, and growing economic development centers. Everything is a form of fruit from that sturdy tree,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

Busyro also highlighted the national issue, which has recently been shrouded in darkness.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If there is a public and political ethics based on honesty, true religious values, and Pancasila, then, of course, there will never be a Health Bill that is very problematic and is under much public scrutiny,” said Busyro.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"“If the health bill is forced to be passed, it means that the government and the DPR will repeat their political stance on the job creation bill, the KPK’s revised bill, the constitutional court’s revised bill, and so on. Of course, we love this,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

Therefore, said Busyro, the three verses above contain meaning that is in harmony with the spirit of Pancasila and the four opening paragraphs of the 1945 Constitution.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If state administrators implement these values, there will be no picture of our society being lame and full of injustice,” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
