The study session is held annually during the month of Ramadan, featuring competent speakers from Muhammadiyah to deliver lectures and brief studies.<\/p>\nThe Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, was represented by the Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum, who officially opened the regular Ramadan study session for the 1446 Hijri year on Monday (March 11) at the Taqwa Mosque UMSU, Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.<\/p>\n
The study session is held annually during the month of Ramadan, featuring competent speakers from Muhammadiyah to deliver lectures and brief studies.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Taqwa Mosque UMSU also runs a program of breaking the fast together on Mondays and Fridays, known as “Monday Gathering” and “Friday Blessings.”<\/p>\n
On the first week, the lecture was given by BPH UMSU Drs. H. Dalail Ahmad, M.A., with the theme “Dialoguing with Kalmullah Al-Qur’an.”<\/p>\n
The event was attended by the Vice Rectors, Faculty Leaders, Lecturers, academic staff, and UMSU students.<\/p>\n
Prof. Arifin opened the Ramadan study session with the basmalah. In his speech, he invited the congregation to use the Ramadan study sessions as a means to increase faith and piety. He hoped that all participants would be granted health and strength during their fasting.![](\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-03-11-at-11.32.43-AM.jpeg?resize=300%2C200&ssl=1\")

“Let us all pray together, in addition to engaging in religious studies, so that our fasting can proceed smoothly and be blessed,” said Vice Rector I of UMSU.<\/p>\n
The study session continued with a brief lecture from Drs. Dalail, where he explained the meaning of the verse “Ya ayyuhalladzina amanu” which frequently appears in the Qur’an as a call to the believers.<\/p>\n
“When Allah says ‘Ya ayyuhalladzina amanu’, it is a direct call to us. Never think that this call is for others because faith is the responsibility of each individual,” he said.<\/p>\n

He also encouraged the attendees to understand that today, jihad is no longer merely about taking up arms, but about struggling against desires, defending Islamic values, and pursuing knowledge with sincerity.<\/p>\n
