The UMSU BIPA Program (Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers) held its Cultural & Culinary Exploration<\/em> program with the participation of 10 international students. The activity began on Wednesday (20\/8) with a batik-making session at Ardhina Batik, Jalan Bersama, Medan Tembung.<\/p>\n

The students showed great enthusiasm throughout the cultural learning process\u2014from selecting patterns, applying wax with a canting tool, to completing their very first batik cloth.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very happy to try making batik. This is a new experience for me, and I feel proud to get to know Indonesian culture firsthand,\u201d said Rashitin Ahmed, a student from Cambodia.<\/p>\n

The activity was accompanied by the Head of UMSU\u2019s BIPA Program, Dr. Cut Novita Srikandi, M.Hum, along with lecturers and facilitators from Ardhina Batik.<\/p>\n

Dr. Cut explained that the Cultural & Culinary Exploration<\/em> program is designed to introduce Indonesia\u2019s arts, traditions, and flavors through hands-on experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want international students not only to learn the language but also to truly connect with Indonesian culture. Batik is a beautiful way to begin their journey in this program,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

This activity marks the starting point of a series of Cultural & Culinary Exploration<\/em> events that will continue to showcase Indonesia\u2019s rich cultural and culinary diversity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
