The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, officially sent off 823 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) to take part in the 2025 Independent Community Service Program (KKN Mandiri<\/em>). The send-off ceremony took place on Tuesday (19\/8) at the UMSU campus courtyard, Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Vice Rector II Prof. Akrim emphasized that the KKN program plays an important role in building students\u2019 credibility.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo succeed, we need credibility and legitimacy. Think of this program as an investment for your future. Through KKN, you will gain legitimacy. We hope every student participates wholeheartedly, especially when engaging and communicating directly with the community,\u201d said Prof. Akrim.<\/p>\n

He also reminded students to uphold the university\u2019s reputation. \u201cShow your identity as excellent, intelligent, and trustworthy students. Protect UMSU\u2019s good name, while also promoting UMSU among the community,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the Organizing Committee Chair, Muhammad Shareza Hafiz, SE., M.Acc, reported that 823 students are joining the Independent KKN program, consisting of 217 Accounting students, 563 Management students, and 43 Development Economics students.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis program involves 100 field supervisors, with placements adjusted to each student\u2019s place of residence,\u201d explained Hafiz.<\/p>\n

The Dean of FEB UMSU, Dr. H. Januri, S.E., M.M., M.Si., CMA, highlighted that KKN serves as a bridge between the university and society, stressing the importance of maintaining proper behavior during the program.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlhamdulillah, today we hold the send-off for KKN. This program connects UMSU with the community. There will be dialogue, but the key is to maintain attitude. Don\u2019t intrude into others\u2019 matters or open private files. The KKN is located near students\u2019 homes, and no overnight stays are allowed unless with parental permission,\u201d he reminded.<\/p>\n

As a form of encouragement, the Dean also announced a special reward for the most creative documentation on social media. \u201cWe will award Rp1 million to three groups with the most creative social media posts,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The program placements cover several areas, including Deli Serdang Regency and Binjai City (each with two teams), as well as Medan City (with four teams). \u201cStudents are expected to remain disciplined and present daily at their assigned KKN locations,\u201d the Dean added.<\/p>\n

The send-off ceremony also included the handover of the official appointment letter (SK) to Field Supervisor (DPL) Elizar Sinambela, S.E., M.Si, the presentation of participant badges to representatives Reza Pahlevi Harahap and Syafa Khairiah Lubis, and a symbolic balloon release.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
