This ranking assesses universities\u2019 contributions to sustainability across three main categories: <strong data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"465\">social, environmental, and governance<\/strong>. In this year\u2019s edition, QS included <strong data-start=\"503\" data-end=\"535\">2,001 universities worldwide<\/strong> in its rankings.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"554\" data-end=\"884\">UMSU is ranked <strong data-start=\"569\" data-end=\"590\">12th in Indonesia<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"598\" data-end=\"615\">Social Impact<\/strong> category, positioned <strong data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"654\">415th in Asia<\/strong>, and placed in the <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"695\">1251+ global band<\/strong>. This category reflects the extent to which universities benefit society through education, health, equality, knowledge collaboration, and employment opportunities for students and alumni.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"886\" data-end=\"1359\">In the ranking results, UMSU demonstrated notable strengths in two key indicators. First, <strong data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"998\">Health &amp; Wellbeing<\/strong>, where UMSU ranked <strong data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1036\">1st nationally<\/strong>, highlighting the university\u2019s strong role in community health programs, student activities, and research related to social welfare. Second, the <strong data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1205\">Impact of Education<\/strong> indicator placed UMSU <strong data-start=\"1228\" data-end=\"1246\">2nd nationally<\/strong>, reflecting the quality of learning, curriculum relevance, and the contribution of education to broader society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1361\" data-end=\"1662\">In addition to UMSU, several other universities within the Muhammadiyah Higher Education network were also included in this year\u2019s QS Sustainability rankings, including <strong data-start=\"1530\" data-end=\"1575\">Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1577\" data-end=\"1621\">Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS)<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1661\">Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1664\" data-end=\"2262\">UMSU Rector <strong data-start=\"1676\" data-end=\"1703\">Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP<\/strong>, stated that this achievement continues UMSU\u2019s performance in regional and global rankings. He noted that UMSU\u2019s inclusion in QS Sustainability demonstrates the university\u2019s consistency in building impactful contributions to society. \u201cThis complements our achievement in the QS Asia Rankings. UMSU has consistently developed as an impact-oriented university through the roles of students, research outputs, creative works, and community service. This recognition shows that the steps taken by the university have meaning at the international level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2264\" data-end=\"2736\">He added that UMSU will continue to strengthen its sustainability agenda through applied research, innovative learning, national and international collaborations, as well as empowerment programs carried out by students and faculty members. According to him, this ranking provides a foundation to expand sustainability initiatives in the coming years, including improving institutional data quality, strengthening environmental activities, and enhancing governance aspects.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"2738\" data-end=\"3421\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">As a ranking that integrates the dimensions of <strong data-start=\"2785\" data-end=\"2846\">education, research, community engagement, and governance<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2848\" data-end=\"2874\">QS Sustainability 2026<\/strong> offers a comprehensive picture of universities\u2019 contributions to global sustainability. Its assessment methodology covers three major categories\u2014<strong data-start=\"3020\" data-end=\"3075\">Environmental Impact, Social Impact, and Governance<\/strong>\u2014with indicators such as environmental education, sustainability research, public health, education quality, equality, knowledge exchange, employment opportunities, and institutional transparency.
