The Chairman of Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Jawa Tengah<\/span><\/span> (PWM Central Java), Dr. KH Tafsir, M.Ag., presented a donation of Rp1 billion to the Organizing Committee of the 49th Muhammadiyah and \u2018Aisyiyah Congress, which will be held in North Sumatra in 2027.<\/p>\n

The contribution was received directly by the Chairman of the 49th Congress Organizing Committee\u2014who is also the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara<\/span><\/span> (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP\u2014on the sidelines of an inspection of the integrated campus auditorium construction in Saentis Village, Deli Serdang, Tuesday (February 3). The funds will support the development of the \u201cAuditorium Berkemajuan\u201d at UMSU\u2019s integrated campus, which will serve as the main venue for the Muhammadiyah Congress.<\/p>\n

Dr. Tafsir expressed his deep appreciation for the preparedness of Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara<\/span><\/span> (PWM North Sumatra) and UMSU in welcoming the 2027 Congress. He said he was impressed by the construction of the grand building that will become the center of congress activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlhamdulillah, I have witnessed firsthand the extraordinary efforts of the Congress committee. The facility being prepared is highly representative. We extend our highest appreciation to PWM North Sumatra and UMSU for their hard work in preparing for the 2027 Congress. May the Congress proceed smoothly and produce decisions that benefit the ummah,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He also described hosting the Congress in North Sumatra as remarkable due to its vast land area and integrated campus concept.<\/p>\n

\u201cNorth Sumatra has extensive land, making it possible to hold a truly integrated Congress for the first time. This is certainly not an easy task considering the large number of participants, yet North Sumatra has made it possible. This deserves recognition,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In addition to reviewing the progress of the auditorium construction and overall preparations, the visit by PWM Central Java and the management of Lazismu Central Java also included inspecting disaster-affected areas in Sumatra and delivering humanitarian assistance. The aid reflects solidarity and the spirit of mutual support.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs fellow human beings, we must respect and help one another. This assistance is part of PWM Central Java\u2019s contribution, including human resource support through MDMC volunteers, medical personnel, and other forms of aid,\u201d he explained, accompanied by Secretary Dodok Sartono, S.E., M.M., members of the Lazismu Central Java Sharia Supervisory Board, and other officials.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Rector Prof. Agussani outlined the background of UMSU\u2019s integrated campus development, which began with the acquisition process of more than 24 hectares of land in 2010. Although the process was challenging, ownership was eventually secured following the issuance of a decree by the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning\/National Land Agency (ATR\/BPN).<\/p>\n

The construction of the Auditorium Berkemajuan was initially planned for the Muchtar Basri campus but was ultimately relocated to the integrated campus area in Saentis Village, Sampali. Construction progress has now reached 35.5 percent. The auditorium will accommodate 6,800 attendees and serve as the main venue for the 2027 Congress. Meanwhile, the Walidah Sports Hall, with a capacity of 2,500 people, will host the \u2018Aisyiyah Congress and has reached 50 percent completion.<\/p>\n

The integrated campus area also includes an SPPG (Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit), plantations, poultry facilities, and a food supply chain system to support the SPPG\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, PWM North Sumatra Chairman Prof. Dr. Hasyimsyah Nasution, M.A., expressed gratitude for the support from PWM Central Java and acknowledged its consistent involvement in humanitarian activities in North Sumatra.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe sincerely thank PWM Central Java, which has been present from the very beginning, including during disaster response efforts. This is concrete action for the community\u2014from emergency handling to recovery stages. Their presence extends not only to North Sumatra but also to Aceh,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n

Prof. Hasyimsyah further revealed that, following directives, PWM Central Java has also contributed to the construction of a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) as part of its support for the 2027 Congress preparations.<\/p>\n
