The Chairman of Partai Gema Bangsa<\/span><\/span>, Ir. Ahmad Rofiq\u2014who also serves as Vice Chairman for Recruitment and Political Communication at the Public Policy and Wisdom Council of Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah<\/span><\/span>\u2014visited the development site of the Integrated Campus of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara<\/span><\/span> (UMSU) in Saentis Village, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Serdang, on Saturday (January 31).<\/p>\n

He was welcomed directly by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP., at the construction site, which will serve as the main venue for the 49th Muhammadiyah and \u2018Aisyiyah Congress in 2027. Also in attendance were the Treasurer of Pimpinan Wilayah Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara<\/span><\/span> (PWM North Sumatra), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qorib, M.A.; the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Radiman, S.E., M.Si.; the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wan Arfiani Barus, M.P.; the Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zailani, M.A.; along with other Gema Bangsa Party officials.<\/p>\n

Ahmad Rofiq expressed his appreciation for the development of UMSU\u2019s integrated campus, which he described as a manifestation of perseverance and strong conviction. He emphasized that Muhammadiyah\u2019s ability to produce significant achievements stems from its commitment to a sustainable system and enduring values of struggle.<\/p>\n

\u201cFaith and perseverance can give birth to accomplishments like this. This is the spirit of Muhammadiyah\u2014it builds systems, not personalities. It is not individuals who elevate Muhammadiyah, but the system that strengthens the organization,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

According to him, the values of charity and good deeds promoted by Muhammadiyah will always find their way in every struggle. He noted that major movements require sincerity and dedication to achieve meaningful results.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though I am active in politics, I continue to carry the spirit of Muhammadiyah and IMM. As long as we keep striving, there will always be a way forward,\u201d Ahmad remarked.<\/p>\n

He also pledged to help promote and support UMSU\u2019s major upcoming agendas, including the 2027 Muhammadiyah Congress, and to encourage participation from various stakeholders, including business leaders committed to serving the broader community.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani explained that the UMSU integrated campus holds a long and challenging history. The land acquisition process took more than ten years before it was finally realized.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we had given up back then, everything would have ended. But we persisted. This was the tenth location we surveyed, and it took over a decade to secure,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Rector also outlined the ongoing development across the campus area, including a mosque targeted for completion next March and a bakery factory expected to be finished within two months. UMSU is also developing a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) across 18 hectares in the Biru-Biru area, as well as a drinking water depot scheduled for completion within four months.<\/p>\n

Beyond the auditorium and sports hall, UMSU is building a sustainable ecosystem within the integrated campus, including integrated farming, poultry facilities, fish ponds, plantations, a bottled water factory, and a hospital.<\/p>\n

During the visit, Ahmad Rofiq and the Rector planted a durian tree as a symbol of commitment to sustainable development at the UMSU Integrated Campus.<\/p>\n
