The Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.A.P., distributed donations to orphans during a gathering and iftar event organized by the Muhammadiyah General Hospital of North Sumatra. The event took place at the hospital courtyard on Jalan Mandala By Pass No. 27, Tegal Sari Mandala I, Medan Denai District, Medan, on Friday (March 6).<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Prof. Agussani shared a brief history of the hospital, which was officially entrusted to UMSU by the Muhammadiyah Central Board in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlhamdulillah, the hospital has undergone remarkable improvements. UMSU continues to invest in its development,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

He explained that healthcare facilities and services have significantly improved since 2018, following an investment of approximately Rp 35 billion.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, we have a range of facilities, including outpatient clinics, an emergency unit, tiered service classes, and upgraded inpatient rooms\u2014far better than in 2018. As Rector, I continuously monitor facilities, services, human resources, and financial aspects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the hospital area is also being expanded to support both healthcare services and medical education.<\/p>\n

\u201cUMSU, together with the hospital, continues to improve and expand this area. We have recently acquired two additional buildings. This reflects the strong sense of ownership among the hospital team,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He expressed hope that the Muhammadiyah General Hospital of North Sumatra will continue to support the development of UMSU\u2019s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the hospital\u2019s Director, dr. Mohamad Riza, M.Kes., S.H., M.H.Kes., noted that the event is an annual program with a deeper purpose beyond breaking the fast together.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a routine annual event. It is not merely an iftar gathering, but also an opportunity to strengthen relationships and foster solidarity among us. We hope it brings benefits to all,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that the occasion also serves as a platform to showcase the hospital\u2019s progress since coming under UMSU\u2019s management in 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe continue to highlight the hospital\u2019s development. Since being managed by UMSU, it has continued to grow and, God willing, will remain a trusted healthcare partner for the community,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Before the iftar, the event featured an award ceremony for winners of the Muhammadiyah General Hospital anthem competition, recognizing first through third place as well as honorable mentions. Donations for orphans were then presented directly by the UMSU Rector alongside the hospital Director and Head of Medical Services, Nora Damayanti.<\/p>\n

The program continued with a Ramadan sermon delivered by Ustadz Abdurrahman, M.Pd., who encouraged attendees to use the holy month as a moment to strengthen faith, enhance social awareness, and foster Islamic brotherhood.<\/p>\n

Also in attendance were members of the hospital\u2019s advisory team, including Dr. Muthalib, M.M.; Head of Medical Services Nora Damayanti; Head of General Affairs and HRD Ibrahim Nainggolan, S.H., M.H.; Head of Finance Khairul Anwar Pulungan, S.E., M.Si.; representatives from the military (Kodim 01\/02 Denai), local police (Medan Area Sector Police), Tegal Sari Mandala Village administration, the Ministry of Religious Affairs of North Sumatra, neighborhood leaders, as well as general practitioners and specialist doctors of the hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
