The ceremony took place on Thursday (April 16) at the UMSU Meeting Room on Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"347\" data-end=\"581\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-02-at-1.21.54-PM-1-300x200.jpeg\" \/>The event was attended by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum, Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, Treasurer of PWM North Sumatra Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qorib, M.A, faculty leaders, bureau heads, and the prospective pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"682\">In his remarks, Rector Agussani extended his congratulations and prayers to the departing pilgrims.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"684\" data-end=\"959\">\u201cWe wish you a safe journey in performing the Hajj pilgrimage. Despite the current geopolitical situation, we hope it will not pose any obstacles. So far, there have been no disruptions to Hajj departures related to the geopolitical conditions in the Middle East,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"1109\">On this occasion, the Rector also shared his experience performing Hajj in 2025 and emphasized the importance of patience throughout the pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1111\" data-end=\"1259\">\u201cPatience is essential. I am confident that UMSU pilgrims will carry out their \u0639\u0628\u0627\u062fah well and return as mabrur (accepted) Hajj pilgrims,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1486\">Meanwhile, the Treasurer of PWM North Sumatra and member of the UMSU Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Qorib, M.A, in his brief sermon, highlighted the importance of safeguarding important documents during the pilgrimage.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1592\">\u201cThe Nusuk card is prone to being lost, so it requires extra attention to avoid problems,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1594\" data-end=\"1716\">He emphasized that the key to performing Hajj lies in maintaining consistency (istiqamah) both physically and spiritually.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-05-02-at-1.21.55-PM-300x200.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1718\" data-end=\"1943\">\u201cThe most important aspect of Hajj is istiqamah\u2014both physically and spiritually. Pilgrims must maintain their physical strength, spiritual well-being, and mental readiness to ensure a smooth and complete pilgrimage,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"2042\">Pilgrims were also advised not to overexert themselves in performing additional (sunnah) rituals.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2044\" data-end=\"2227\">\u201cDo not force yourself to go to the Grand Mosque for extra \u0639\u0628\u0627\u062fah if your condition does not allow it. The peak of Hajj is at Arafah, so maintaining good health is crucial,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2229\" data-end=\"2379\">Representing the pilgrims, Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Regional Board of Medan, Maulana Siregar, S.Ag., M.A, expressed gratitude for the opportunity.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2381\" data-end=\"2612\">\u201cThis is truly a blessing for me. The Medan City Government directly asked whether I had performed Hajj. I have performed Umrah six times, and Alhamdulillah, this year Allah has granted me the opportunity to perform Hajj,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2614\" data-end=\"2741\">He explained that his departure is part of a regional Hajj assignment from the Medan City Government representing Muhammadiyah.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2743\" data-end=\"2860\">\u201cThank you to UMSU for the appreciation given to us.
