The ceremony took place on Monday (June 15) at the UMSU Auditorium on Muchtar Basri Street No. 3, Medan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-12.36.02-PM-1-300x200.jpeg\" \/>The graduates comprised 25 students from the Electrical Engineering Program, 25 from Mechanical Engineering, and 22 from Civil Engineering. The event was attended by Chairman of the UMSU Board of Trustees (BPH) Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP., along with the faculty&#8217;s leadership and heads of study programs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his remarks, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd. praised the Faculty of Engineering for producing graduates whose innovations and achievements have enhanced the university&#8217;s reputation at both the national and international levels.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I extend my sincere appreciation to the entire Faculty of Engineering for their dedication in educating and mentoring these graduates. Despite every challenge and limitation, we have successfully prepared them to contribute meaningfully to society,&#8221; the Rector said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He reaffirmed UMSU&#8217;s commitment to continuously improving learning facilities to support future generations of students.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We remain committed to gradually providing the best possible learning facilities to prepare future generations for greater success,&#8221; he stated.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-12.36.02-PM-300x200.jpeg\" \/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Rector also expressed his hope that more students and parents would place their trust in UMSU as their preferred destination for higher education, considering the remarkable accomplishments of its students and alumni across various professional fields.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over the past several years, students of the Faculty of Engineering have earned recognition through numerous prestigious competitions and research initiatives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among their notable accomplishments are participation in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) \u2013 Creative Initiative Scheme, the 2026 Community Service Student Creativity Program, and consecutive appearances as national finalists in the Indonesian Ship Design Competition in 2023 and 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Faculty of Engineering students also secured Second and Third Place in the 2026 National Cycling Championship, demonstrating excellence beyond the academic arena.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, they have actively participated in national innovation and research competitions, including the Indonesian Flying Robot Contest and the Indonesian Ship Competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Their applied research projects include the design and development of an off-grid solar power system (LPTS) prototype to provide lighting for a suspension bridge in Jorong Lubuk Gobing, West Pasaman, showcasing the faculty&#8217;s commitment to technology that addresses real community needs.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-12.36.05-PM-1.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ade Faisal, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D., encouraged graduates to become resilient leaders capable of shaping Indonesia&#8217;s future.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;We hope these 72 graduates will become resilient leaders who contribute significantly to Indonesia&#8217;s development toward the nation&#8217;s Golden Indonesia 2045 vision,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He emphasized that today&#8217;s graduates face increasingly complex global challenges, making technical expertise alone insufficient.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The demands of today&#8217;s world are far greater than before. Technical competence alone is not enough. Graduates must also develop strong soft skills, which can only be cultivated through continuous practice, discipline, and everyday behavior,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-12.36.03-PM-2.jpeg\" \/><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Representing the graduating class, Azi Adlih, the top graduate of the Electrical Engineering Program, shared his reflections on his years at UMSU.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;This university has been much more than a place to acquire knowledge. It has shaped my character, strengthened my discipline, developed my critical thinking skills, and taught me the values of perseverance, collaboration, and hard work,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the ceremony, the Faculty of Engineering also announced its Outstanding Graduates for the First Graduation Period of 2026:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Electrical Engineering: Azi Adlih, S.T. \u2014 GPA 3.81<\/li>\n<li>Mechanical Engineering: Wira Admaja, S.T. \u2014 GPA 3.48<\/li>\n<li>Civil Engineering: Muhammad Fatra Anggana, S.T. \u2014 GPA 3.38<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The graduation ceremony reflected UMSU&#8217;s ongoing commitment to producing engineering graduates who combine academic excellence, innovation, professional competence, and strong character.
