The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere on Monday (June 15) at the UMSU Auditorium, Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-4.50.08-PM-1-300x200.jpeg\" \/>The graduating class comprised 131 graduates from the Islamic Education program, 7 graduates from Early Childhood Islamic Education, 50 graduates from Sharia Business Management, and 17 graduates from the Islamic Banking program.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP., Chairman of the UMSU Board of Trustees (BPH) and Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of North Sumatra; Prof. Dr. H. Abdullah, M.Si., Deputy Coordinator of Kopertais Region IX North Sumatra; Fajar Hasan Mursyid, Director of Ma&#8217;had Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah Medan; Fikri Adam Malik, representative of Pondok Modern Entrepreneur Darul Mustofa; and representatives from several Islamic banking institutions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his address, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd. praised the Faculty of Islamic Studies, describing it as one of the university&#8217;s flagship faculties.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Faculty of Islamic Studies has consistently been recognized as one of the most outstanding faculties at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to the Rector, the faculty&#8217;s accomplishments demonstrate its continuously improving academic quality and ability to respond to global challenges. He noted that students&#8217; proficiency in foreign languages reflects their readiness to compete internationally.<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-4.50.06-PM-1-300x200.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;One clear indication of the faculty&#8217;s excellence was evident today when our graduates confidently delivered their reflections in English,&#8221; he remarked.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Prof. Akrim added that the faculty&#8217;s achievements are supported by tangible performance indicators.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;All of these indicators clearly demonstrate the remarkable progress achieved by the Faculty of Islamic Studies,&#8221; he stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He emphasized that the success of a faculty should be measured not only by the number of graduates it produces, but also by the quality of graduates who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zailani, M.A., presented the faculty&#8217;s strategic achievements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He explained that four of the faculty&#8217;s six academic programs have earned the highest national accreditation (&#8220;Excellent&#8221;), reflecting the faculty&#8217;s commitment to maintaining high academic standards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dr. Zailani also highlighted FAI UMSU&#8217;s strong commitment to internationalization through a variety of initiatives, including visiting lecturer programs, international practitioner teaching, international community service (KKN), and professional competency certification.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/umsu.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/WhatsApp-Image-2026-06-15-at-4.50.13-PM.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Every semester, each of our study programs hosts visiting lecturers as part of our international academic initiatives,&#8221; he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These international collaborations involve institutions from Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, Oman, Yemen, and Japan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beyond academic excellence, FAI UMSU actively promotes community engagement through its Campus Impact Education Volunteers Program, enabling students to apply their knowledge directly in schools and local communities.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Our students are not confined to the classroom. They actively engage with schools, applying their knowledge to create meaningful impact within the community,&#8221; Dr. Zailani emphasized.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The faculty has also established partnerships with leading financial institutions\u2014including Bank Syariah Indonesia, Bank Muamalat, Bank Sumut Syariah, and Bank Danamon\u2014to provide students with certified internship opportunities and practical industry experience.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In his remarks, Prof. Dr. H. Abdullah, M.Si., Deputy Coordinator of Kopertais Region IX North Sumatra, praised FAI UMSU as one of the leading faculties of Islamic studies among private higher education institutions in the region.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Faculty of Islamic Studies currently ranks first among faculties of Islamic studies at private universities in North Sumatra,&#8221; he stated.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Representing the graduating class, Anisa Dwirani, S.E., encouraged her fellow graduates to use the knowledge they had gained to serve society.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Success is not only about achieving personal goals, but also about creating positive impact and benefiting others,&#8221; she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The ceremony concluded with a spirit of optimism shared by the entire academic community.
