Treating institutional social media should be managed like our life partners. Social media accounts tend to be very personal, informative, authentic, and meet audience expectations.
Yamadipati Seno conveyed this to the Editor of Mojok in the Public Relations Development Batch II Workshop of Muhammadiyah’ Aisyiyah College (PTMA). This workshop was held by the Higher Education Research and Development Council (Diktilitbang) of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive, which 47 Muhammadiyah Universities attended at the Grand Rohan Hotel, Yogyakarta, on Thursday (4/8/22).
“The audience will remember authentic social media; to achieve authenticity, public relations must research so that a strong concept is obtained before uploading content,” he added. Seno explained that when something goes viral, it happens cross-platform by being uploaded on various platforms. Therefore, mitigation is essential in managing issues that occur on social media.
“People on social media want to save time where the content is complete, informative and solutive, then focus on solutions and try to be proactive, not reactive on several issues,” explained Seno about the character of the netizen.
UMSU sent one of the PR Teams to attend this activity’s PTMA Batch II Public Relations Development Workshop. This participation is to improve the performance of public relations within UMSU. The goal is to get the best reputation in the community. With a good campus reputation, public trust in UMSU is getting higher. (Al-Wafi)
