The development of digital technology allows people to create and send content in the form of news. This phenomenon is called User Generated Content (UGC). In addition, various significant media open up opportunities for users to submit content in the form of information through UGC. So, this is an opportunity for campus public relations to manage UGC.
This was conveyed by Fajar Junaedi from the Association of Educational Communication Studies at Muhammadiyah Universities and ‘Aisyiyah (APIK PTMA) when filling the workshop on Public Relations Development for Batch II of Muhammadiyah Universities ‘Aisyiyah (PTMA). This workshop was held by the Council for Higher Education Research and Development (Diktilitbang) of the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah Friday (5/8/22). “Campus PR can create accounts on media with the UGC platform and then upload news diligently,” Fajar said.
Fajar Junaedi added that all academics on campus should also be invited to write through UGC things that support the campus’s reputation.
To increase publication on the UGC media platform at UMSU, UMSU’s PR attended this workshop. Al Wafi represented UMSU to participate in the workshop. It is hoped that UMSU’s public relations program will be more advanced after attending the workshop with lots of quality news. (Al Wafi)
