Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara held advocacy and outreach activities for the accelerated stunting reduction program in Langkat Regency on Wednesday (5/10), which is part of the Kedaireka-BKKBN Matching Fund grant activity with the theme Implementation of the DASHAT program using local food ingredients and MARTABE through university assistance in North Sumatra.
Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara held this activity through PIC dr. Eka Febriyanti, M Gizi, with a team of 2 field assistant lecturers, namely Dr. Siti Hajar, SSos, MSP, and Dr. Leylia Khairani, SPd, Msi, who also included 3 UMSU students in the Sobat Bagoes Stabat hall.
This activity was attended by the Head of the Sumatera Utara Province BKKBN, Head of the Langkat Regency Bappeda, Dean of the UMSU Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Langkat PPKB Office, representatives of several OPDs in Langkat district, sub-district heads, and related village heads. The district government, through the head of Bappeda, welcomes and supports the activities of the DASHAT and MARTABE programs and invites all sectors related to the stunting reduction program to commit and work together with the grant team.
In addition, the head of the BKKBN said that the DASHAT program was one of the products of the Kedaireka Matching Fund between the BKKBN and the Indonesian Rector Forum, where for the Langkat area, the executor of this activity was the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara. In her remarks, the Dean of FK UMSU, Dr. Siti Masliana Siregar Sp THT-KL, also conveyed the importance of collaboration between academics and the government, and the private sector in handling stunting, which is still high in North Sumatra.
