The Dance Team from UMSU has once again demonstrated exceptional prowess on a national scale. Clinching the top spot in the Dance Competition at the 2nd Indonesia International Culture Festival (IICF) 2023, the UMSU Dance Team triumphed over teams from 10 countries.
Expressing his pride in the team’s success at the 2023 ICF event, UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, stated, “Congratulations to the UMSU Dance Team for their remarkable achievements on the international stage,” on Sunday (10/29).
The triumph of the UMSU dance team underscores the university’s commitment to nurturing student affairs, extending beyond the academic realm. UMSU not only offers opportunities for students to compete but also provides ample resources and infrastructure for practice and development in arts and sports.
Prof. Dr. Agussani hopes the team’s achievements will inspire other students and encourage them to refrain from resting on their laurels, emphasizing that maintaining success is often more challenging than achieving it.
Dharma Ari Prianto, UMSU Dance and Arts and Culture UKM Advisor expressed gratitude for the latest success. “Thank God, the UMSU Dance Team has once again secured victory at the national level,” he remarked.
Ari highlighted that at the TMII Anjungan Riau-hosted festival, the UMSU Dance Team surpassed over 200 participants from across Indonesia, including those from elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as studios.
The IICF 2023 event, held by the Kemenparekraf RI under the theme “Indonesian Harmony,” drew participants from 10 nations, including Korea, the USA, Bulgaria, Greece, Russia, Iran, India, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Thailand, and Indonesia.
The UMSU Dance Team has a notable track record of securing impressive victories at various international and national festivals.
