Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra held a two-day graduation ceremony on Tuesday – Wednesday (17-18/12) at the Selecta Convention Hall, Jl. Listrik No.2, Medan.
The Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, through the Chairman of the Graduation Committee, Vice Rector 1 of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin Gultom, M.Hum, stated that the second graduation period of 2024 will be held in one day, with 2,300 graduates from the master’s, bachelor’s, and associate degree levels.
“On behalf of UMSU, we sincerely apologize to the road users whose traffic was disrupted on the route or around the graduation location,” said the UMSU Vice Rector 1, accompanied by Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Akrim, MPd, Vice Rector III and also the secretary of the graduation committee Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, and Head of Public Relations Dr. Ribut Priadi, M.I.Kom, after the graduation rehearsal.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto added that the committee had coordinated with the traffic police and the transportation department to anticipate and alleviate the impact of traffic congestion.
It is estimated that 2,300 people will attend the graduation ceremony. To that end, the committee is working with the Traffic Police, Transportation Department, and building management to provide as many parking spaces as possible. In addition, he continued, the committee deployed campus security to the location.
To anticipate delays and avoid traffic jams, the committee urges graduates and their families to arrive 2 hours earlier than the scheduled time.
“We hope all graduates and their families will not face any obstacles in attending and will joyfully participate in the graduation ceremony,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, adding that the committee will be ready to assist the graduates and their families who attend.
