Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) welcomed a courtesy visit from Deztron University Indonesia on Saturday (May 31) at the UMSU VIP Room, Jalan Muchtar Basri No. 3, Medan.
The visit aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing the field of education, particularly in enhancing institutional quality and gaining international recognition.
The delegation from Deztron University Indonesia was led by Rector Prof. Adjunct. Dr. Marniati, S.E., M.Kes., accompanied by several distinguished figures, including Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Kamaruddin bin Hussain, FASc. (Chair of the Faizuddin Centre of Educational Excellence/FCoEE), Datin Noridah Yangman (FCoEE Program Advisor), Assoc. Prof. Dr. H. Yohny Anwar, MM., MH. (Vice Rector), and Dedi Zefrizal, S.T. (Chairman of the Tri Dharma Foundation of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam).
In her remarks, Prof. Adjunct. Dr. Marniati expressed her hope that a partnership with UMSU would soon be realized. She emphasized Deztron University’s commitment to learning and developing institutional capacity, including efforts to obtain international accreditation.
Prof. Emeritus Datuk Dr. Kamaruddin bin Hussain, Chair of FCoEE and senior advisor to Deztron University, added that they are currently planning an upcoming international conference.
The event will bring together scholars from various countries and is expected to be attended by the Crown Prince of Perlis. Interestingly, the Crown Prince is also scheduled to visit UMSU to further strengthen international collaboration.

UMSU, represented by Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum., and Vice Rector II Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd., warmly welcomed the Deztron delegation. UMSU expressed its readiness to engage in strategic cooperation across a wide range of academic and institutional sectors.
