UMSU Conducts Qibla Direction Accuracy Assistance in Barus
Barus, University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU), through the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), assisted in the accuracy of Qibla direction in Barus District, Central Tapanuli.
The Muhammadiyah Development Partnership Program *Utilization of the RHI Qibla compass media in the accuracy of the Qibla direction of the mosque in the Muhammadiyah Barus Mudik Tapanuli Tengah branch environment *started from June 4 – 6, 2021. Team Leader Robie Fanreza, M. Pd, led this activity. I, together with Dr. Arwin Juli Rakhmadi, MA, and Dr. Munawir Pasaribu and Rahman, FAI UMSU students.
Robie Fanreza said the service was deliberately carried out in Central Tapanuli, related to the problems faced by many mosques or mushalahs that were not accurate in the Qibla direction. Then, there is a lack of knowledge in the Islamic community on how to curate the correct and correct Qibla direction facing the Kaaba.
The meeting was attended by the Muhammadiyah Regional Leader of Central Tapanuli accompanied by Muhammadiyah Barus Branch Leader Marwan, S. Pd, and 4 Muhammadiyah Branch Leaders and the Muhammadiyah Youth Force.
The Regional Leader of Muhammadiyah Central Tapanuli, represented by Mr. M Natsir Tanjung in his remarks, said that he was pleased. Expected assistance from UMSU in terms of guiding using the RHI compass media in curating the correct Qibla direction and wanted it to be implemented in every branch spread across Central Tapanuli from the Padang Sidimpuan Border to the Aceh border so that Muhammadiyah mosques and mushalahs have the correct Qibla direction.
The Muhammadiyah Barus Branch Leader asked UMSU also to be able to help foster the community in phalac science training.
Team Leader Robie Fanreza said that from the results of this Muhammadiyah Service, a follow-up plan would be carried out including strengthening phalac science training as the spearhead of developing the Barus branch of the Falak Science Observatory center. Then training assistance until the Muhammadiyah citizens understand and are experts in phalac science by involving related faculties.
UMSU will also provide scholarships to children who have achievements that meet the criteria at UMSU, such as Tahfid scholarships, talents and arts, Muhammadiyah Administrators and KIP Scholarships, proven by the team of students who participated tonight who are cadres of AMM Barus Mudik who get Full Bidikmisi Scholarships who study at the Faculty of Islamic Religion, as well as counseling to the community on the importance of further education, said Munawir Pasaribu as a team member and also the son of Barus Region.
On this occasion, the service team also gave certificates of appreciation to participants, three units of RHI compass media, five tarjih books, and 30 Iqra books for Madrasah diniyah awaliyah.
