Students and the public throughout the regencies and cities of North Sumatra visited the stand of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara at the Free Learning Month Exhibition, which lasted for three days from May 31 to June 2, 2024, at the North Sumatra Fair Hall Building (PRSU), Jalan Gatot Subroto, Medan.
The exhibition was opened directly by the acting (Pj) governor of North Sumatra, who was represented by the head of the North Sumatra Provincial Education Office, Ir. Abdul Haris Lubis, M.Si.
The representative of the Acting Governor of North Sumatra conveyed that the Ministry of Education and Culture programs in the province of North Sumatra and districts/cities can be implemented properly to realize the quality of education we expect.
“This exhibition was held not only to enliven Merdeka Belajar Month in commemoration of National Education Day but also to display the performance achievements of the Merdeka Belajar program of various UPTs,” said the Head of Education.
UMSU, with a strong commitment to the implementation of the MBKM program, enthusiastically participated in this activity. Our students, brimming with creativity and dedication, presented their innovative products and even took part in educational talk shows, showcasing their passion for learning and their drive to contribute to society.
The overwhelming response from the visitors was a testament to the quality of education and the innovative products showcased by UMSU. Many expressed their interest in continuing their Masters and Doctoral Education at UMSU and even showed a keen interest in purchasing student innovation products. One visitor’s comment, ‘I have the intention of continuing my studies, so I am interested in UMSU,’ reflects the positive impression we left on our potential students.
Present at the opening of the exhibition were central and regional officials, including the Director of SMK Kemendikbudristek, Dr. Wardani Sugiyanto, M.Pd, several regional heads, Heads of Education Offices from 34 Regencies / Cities in North Sumatra Province, North Sumatra Police, KODAM Bukit Barisan, Ombudsman, North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, North Sumatra Provincial DPRD, Regional Inspector, Regional Secretary, Bappeda, College rectors, PWI, Mover Teachers, Mover Schools, education practitioners, students, and the general public.
