Postgraduate School Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) admits 145 new students for the Master’s and Doctoral Degrees programs in Law for the 2021/2022 academic year. The reception was conducted online on Saturday (26/2) at the UMSU Postgraduate Hall – Jl. Denai No. 217 Medan.
Postgraduate UMSU has 9 study programs, including 8 master’s programs, namely Law, Management, Medicine, Accounting, Communication Studies, Higher Education Management, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering Education, and 1 Doctoral program, a Law study program.
Welcoming new students in the even semester, UMSU Postgraduate Director Prof. Dr. Triono Eddy, M.Hum includes all students who will face lectures, “Welcome new students on campus with the motto “Excellent, Intelligent, Reliable. The presence of students on our UMSU campus welcomes all of you who choose UMSU to study for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees with full warmth and friendliness,” said Triono.
Meanwhile, UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, represented by Vice Rector I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin Gultom, M.Hum, also introduced students who will carry out the lecture period. In his foreword, he hopes students can maintain health protocols in the face-to-face lecture system but are still limited.
“If in the previous period we conducted online lectures, in this period we conducted limited face-to-face lectures. Therefore, we hope that every student can pay attention to health promotion as well as possible so that there are no unexpected clusters,” he said.
In particular, Prof. Arifin advised students to change their learning system because studying postgraduate requires a more independent and active learning system than when carrying out undergraduate studies.
“Don’t always expect material and guidance in class, but you must seek knowledge from various available sources. Take advantage of everything there is to expand your knowledge. Follow all procedures and lecture activities as well as possible. Then, God willing, I can finish my education on time,” said Arifin. He also hopes that postgraduate students who experience a problem can communicate it to the administrative bureau.
