Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) closed the UMSU Innovation and Creativity Carnaval (UICC) 2022 series of activities by announcing at most minuscule 97 cross-country winners. The announcement of the winners was broadcast live through the UMSU TV youtube channel Tuesday (1/3).
UICC is one of the annual activities held by UMSU, intended for students and high school students throughout Indonesia as a forum to explore potential interests and talents. UICC 2022 presents 21 competitions, including nine at the SMA/Equivalent level and 12 at the University level, which are held virtually.
The series of UICC activities were carried out from January 17 to February 28, 2022, involving at least 2500 participants, including students from cross-country universities such as Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunie to Egypt. Then 2000 high school students from all over Sumatra, from Aceh to Lampung, participated in various competitions.
UICC 2022 produces young generations who excel and are competitive, officially closed by the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP. He said, “I certainly express great appreciation to the participants who are very enthusiastic even though it is held online,” said Prof. Agussani.

“I hope that this event will have an impact on the creativity of prospective students and students who are currently carrying out higher education. The university is ready to open up to become a place for students who have the creativity to join and run higher education at UMSU,” he said.
Meanwhile, the same enthusiasm was conveyed by the Chair of the UICC 2022 Committee, Radiman SE M.Sc. “UICC is the incarnation of the Student Creativity Week, which we hold annually. This year, we don’t only hold general competitions such as solo vocals or debates, but we also present contemporary competitions such as mobile legends, E-sports, and cinematic videos. Alhamdulillah, the number of UICC participants has increased significantly and has received tremendous appreciation from the school,” said Radiman. (Pny)
