UMSU has resources in the fields of agriculture and engineering according to the fields of cooperation offered,” he said.
Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan, Prof. Kobayashi revealed his arrival at UMSU to continue the Super Global Project launched by the Nagaoka University of Technology in collaboration with 9 countries. For the following country, Prof. Kobayashi wanted Indonesia and chose UMSU as one of the cooperation partners.
For this reason, he offered UMSU to be involved in a project to utilize palm oil shell waste and palm oil processing waste into biofuel. In addition, cooperation related to the use of oil palm shells to be used as mechanical pulp.
“I also offer joint research related to the use of brown coal mixed with shells to be used as biofuel,” he said.
Furthermore, he also opens opportunities for student and lecturer exchanges to develop education and science.
Meanwhile, the Department of Finance Indonesian Embassy in Japan, Fadli Rinaldi Lubis, revealed that his party had brought several investors to visit UMSU to provide possible opportunities to develop businesses in the renewable energy sector, especially palm waste processing.
“We deliberately invite investors to invest in making machines for processing palm oil waste in Indonesia or lifting machines from Malaysia to Indonesia. Hopefully, some CEOs are interested in investing in this project,” he said
