The UMSU Faculty of Engineering held the release of nine alums to become employees at P.T. Gunas Group, one of the largest oil palm plantation companies in Indonesia. The release was carried out directly by the Rector of UMSU, represented by Deputy Rector 3, Dr. Rudianto M.Si, at the Faculty of Engineering Building Thursday (13/10).
In his remarks, Vice-Rector 3, Dr. Rudianto M. Si, expressed his gratitude for the trust of the Gunas Group, which has accepted the best alumni from UMSU to join as part of the Gunas Group. “UMSU commits to continue synergizing and collaborating with the industrial world,” he said.
Rudianto said that in the current education system, lecturers could not only teach in class related to curriculum-based material. In addition, universities are currently required to teach students to graduate on time, and the most important thing is how alumni are absorbed in the job market.
Present at the release, Secretary General Manager Gunas Group Nina Elisa, A Md, and the Executive Engineering Team Ir. Marahdam Siregar, Dean of the FT UMSU Munawar Alfansyuri, S.T., M.T., deputy deans and study program leaders.
The nine alumni who were declared to have graduated became employees at Gunas Group, each of which included six study programs from Mechanical Engineering, Rahmat Arjun, Robby Maulana R, Herlin Cahya Kusuma, Teguh Prasetyo, Mhd titan, Ananta pranoto, and three alumni from the Electrical Engineering study program namely, Akbar Kurnia Hasibuan, Zul Ardiansyah, M. Ghazi Al Mufarid.
