A total of 211 students, along with 15 teachers from SMA N 1 Pekanbaru, paid a visit to Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara Campus on Jalan Kaptain Mukhtar Basri, Medan. The presence of SMAN I Pekanbaru “Goes to Campus” students were welcomed directly by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, with university and faculties, Thursday (10/10).
Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, welcomed the visit of SMAN I students in Pekanbaru to take a closer look at the development of the UMSU campus. There are several Public High Schools in Pekanbaru that he has visited before. “The presence of students from Pekanbaru is certainly useful to take a closer look at the UMSU campus, which is indeed one of the choices for students from Riau to continue their education,” he said.
Furthermore, the Rector explained the development of UMSU, starting from the number of faculties, study programs, and achievements achieved by UMSU as the campus with A accreditation and the best for three consecutive years in North Sumatra.
“UMSU has also received international recognition by winning 4 QS Stars, as well as MQA, Malaysia’s quality assurance agency,” he said.
Head of SMA Negeri I Pekan Baru Fitri Anita said, “The Goes to Campus Program is expected to benefit students to understand the world outside their school. This was the first activity after the Covid-19 pandemic, so students enthusiastically welcomed it.
“This activity is the first time we have done it after the pandemic ended, so of course, it was welcomed by the school and our students with great joy and pride to participate. Of course, to provide benefits to our children at SMA 1 Pekanbaru, especially in class 12,” he said.
Their presence on the UMSU Campus, said Fitri, was beyond their expectations because it turned out that UMSU had a modern, beautiful, and clean campus. “UMSU also has many achievements,” said Fitri.
