The Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FT UMSU), held a professional talk event by inviting speakers from the professional world, namely Suradjin Ir. Suradjin Sutjipto, M.S., accompanied by Ir. Indrawati Sumeru, M.M, William Suparjo, S.T., and Shericca Sucipto, S.T. Attended by 241 participants from 70% of students and 30% of various campuses in North Sumatra and Aceh, Saturday (8/7) at the UMSU Auditorium Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan.
Ir. Suradjin Sutjipto, M.S. is a Consulting Structural engineer, President, and Director Of Suradjin Sutjipto, Inc, to Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department of Universitas Trisakti.
The activity with the theme ‘Professional Talk: Tall Building Design’ was opened directly by the Vice Rector III UMSU Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Sc, welcomed the presence of the resource person, “Welcome, Mr. Surajin, this is UMSU. One of our 9 Faculties is the Faculty of Engineering. We are very proud of the Faculty of Engineering is very progressive in collaborating and collaborating with industry,” he said.
According to Assoc. Prof. Rudianto, the topic raised this time is exciting, not only interesting for civil engineers but development observers in Indonesia and even the whole world. This activity also aligns with the independent campus program, encouraging its graduates to be ready to work and work.
“The campus encourages students to get to know the world of business and industry firsthand, so they do not stutter anymore. This activity cannot be separated from the Independent Campus program, meaning that the campus has the independence to bring students closer to the real world,” said Assoc. Prof. Rudianto. Meanwhile, based on a report from Vice Dean I of UMSU Faculty of Engineering, Ade Faisal, ST., M.Sc, Ph.D. This activity aims to reduce gaps related to construction technology in the design of tall buildings. “Hopefully, with this activity, we can reduce the gap because in the field today, there are many high-rise building designs that are still not by the regulated SNI.” closed Ade.
