Professor Dr. Agussani, MAP, the Rector of the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra (UMSU), bid farewell to Reza Aditia, S.Pd., M.Pd, a lecturer in Accounting Education at FKIP UMSU, who will continue his Ph.D. studies in Hungary. This farewell took place on Monday, August 28th, in the VIP Room at UMSU, located on Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 in Medan.

The send-off ceremony symbolized UMSU’s support for a lecturer who has successfully received the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship for the Ph.D. program in Learning, Instruction, and Subject Pedagogies at Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary for the academic year 2023/2024. Reza is scheduled to depart in early September 2023.
Professor Agussani, the Rector of UMSU, who had the opportunity to send him off, expressed his hope that Reza could serve as a representative of UMSU and inspire other lecturers to pursue scholarships abroad.
“Reza is still very young and, through his own efforts, managed to secure a scholarship despite having just become a permanent lecturer at UMSU. Hopefully, this can serve as motivation for other UMSU lecturers to pursue their education abroad,” said Professor Agussani.

He also stated that Reza Aditia’s departure would enhance the quality of lecturers at UMSU. “Hopefully, in the future, more lecturers will follow suit and study abroad, thereby promoting UMSU on a broader scale,” added the UMSU Rector.
Meanwhile, Dra. Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd, the Dean of FKIP UMSU, expressed her gratitude to the university’s leadership for supporting FKIP lecturers in pursuing education abroad, leading to the successful execution of this send-off event.
“To Mr. Reza, safe travels and good health while you are there. We hope you can adapt and uphold the name of UMSU and promote UMSU while studying there,” the Dean of FKIP remarked.

During the event, Reza also expressed his gratitude for the university’s support and advised other students and lecturers to continue learning, reading books, and studying the English language if they aspire to pursue their dreams of studying abroad.
This send-off ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including WR II UMSU Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, WR III UMSU Assoc. Prof. Rudianto, Deputy Deans I and II of FKIP UMSU, the Head of the BAAD and BAUM Bureaus, and the Head of OIC UMSU.
