The Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara inaugurated 4 female lecturers as professors through an open senate session held at the campus auditorium on Jalan Kapten Mukhtar Basri, Medan, Saturday (23/12).
The four women who were inaugurated as professors were Prof. Dr. Ir. Hj. R. Sabrina, M.Si Professor of Management Science who is also the Secretary of North Sumatra for the 2018-2021 period, Prof. Dr. Ida Hanifah, S.H., M.H. Professor of Law, Prof. Dr. Emilda Sulasmi, S.Pd., M.Pd Professor of Education Management Science and Prof. Dr. Siti Mujiatun, S.E., M.M. Professor of Management Science. This inauguration also increased the total number of UMSU professors to 16 people. The number of UMSU professors is the highest in the North Sumatra Region LLDIkti private universities.
Chairman of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership (P.P.), Prof. Dr. Haedar Nashir, M.Si, and Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah, Prof. Dr. Abdul Mu’ti, Med, also inaugurated four female professors.
On this occasion, Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah Prof. Haedar congratulated the officially inaugurated four professors. He conveyed the message that the campus and academic world always spread the values of truth.
“Science also teaches ethics, morals and morals because the world of science and academics has been instilled. Humans must live based on values, which distinguishes humans from other creatures,” said Prof. Haedar.
Prof. Haedar also congratulated UMSU for officially hosting the Muhammadiyah Congress in 2027.
The General Secretary of PP Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti also conveyed strengthening. The achievement of female professors must be underlined because, in addition to academic achievement, it also answers the myth that women have intelligence below men’s.
“Professors and professors are actually warriors, those who become fortresses of science, art, and culture as well as moral fortresses and fortresses of civilization,” said Abdul Mu’ti.
The four professors called ‘Srikandi’ of UMSU delivered a scientific oration speech according to their scientific field. Prof. Ida gave a speech related to ‘Challenges and Prospects for Domestic Workers’ Rights,’ Prof. Sabrina about ‘Implementation of Management Functions in Realizing Food Security,’ Prof. Emilda ‘Sustainable Management and Leadership in Private Schools in the Era of Society 5.0’ and Prof. Siti related to ‘Implementation of Financial Technology in the Perspective of Maqashid Syariah.’
In the scientific oration, Prof. Sabrina, the Secretary of North Sumatra for the 2018-2021 period, shared her reasons for joining the academic world with UMSU. She appreciated UMSU because it has several qualified items, as seen from the achievement of superior accreditation.
“UMSU has a vision and mission and policies that are described in a visionary and accountable manner, which are realized in reality for the development of student and lecturer institutions. UMSU has an acceleration of professional professors, including today we achieved the achievement of professors, “said Prof. Sabrina.
Prof. Emilda thanked all UMSU academicians who had allowed her to process in the academic world.
“I see modern UMSU governance with collective and collegial leadership and solid leadership,” she said.
In the inauguration procession, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, pinned professor marks to four professors. He emphasized that UMSU will continue encouraging and facilitating lecturers to achieve the highest position as professors.
“The inauguration of four female professors is in line with UMSU’s target as a superior accredited campus,” said Prof. Agussani.
In the future, UMSU will continue to strive to motivate lecturers with various programs, including providing research funds and assistance in the form of incentives to publish scientific journals nationally accredited and internationally indexed by Scopu to achieve professors.

Proud achievements are not only professors; the Head of LLDIKTI Region I expressed his appreciation because UMSU won 6 medals at the Anugrah Dikti Ristek event, the most among PTS outside Sumatra, “UMSU through the Rector has supported our lecturers.
I am grateful that UMSU does not differentiate between DPK and Foundation lecturers in terms of support for following professors; this is a positive thing,” said the Head of LLDikti.Also present at the inauguration were Prof. Dr. Hasyimsyah Nasution MA (Chairperson of PWM North Sumatra), Nurjanah (Chairperson of PP Aisyiah), Edy Rahmayadi (Gubsu period 2018-2023), Tengku Erry Nuradi (Gubsu period 2015-2018), H. Musa Rajekshah MHum (Wagubsu Priode 2018-2023), Dr. Hasanuddin, S.IP., M.M. (P.J. Governor of North Sumatra). Prof. Saiful Anwar Matondang, Ph.D. (Head of LLDikti North Sumatra), the United States Consulate in Medan, the Dutch Consulate, the Senate and BPH, and the UMSU academic community.
