The Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FISP UMSU) conducted the Undergraduate Judicium Period II Year 2024 for 161 graduates, Thursday (12/12) at the UMSU Auditorium, Jalan Mukhtar Basri campus, Medan. The Yudisium procession which was attended by the Dean of FISIP UMSU, study programme leaders, lecturers, students, and education staff, was also attended by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr, Agussani, MAP.
Deputy Dean 1 of FISIP UMSU, Dr. Abrar Adhani, M.IKom when reading the Judicium Decree said that 161 new FISIP graduates came from three study programs (study programs), namely from the Social Welfare Study Program (Kessos) as many as 30 people, from the Public Administration Science Study Program (IAP) as many as 20 people, and from the Communication Science Study Program (IKO) as many as 111 people.
‘Those who were graduated today had previously passed the thesis or green table exam. Furthermore, all participants in this graduation will participate in the UMSU Graduation Period II Year 2024 which will be held on 17-18 December 2024 at Hotel Selecta Medan,’ explained Abrar.
Abrar further said that some of the new FISIP graduates were listed as Outstanding Graduates both at the national and international levels. They obtained these achievements while undergoing lectures as students. They managed to come out as champions in various fields such as PIMNAS, PPK Ormawa, Telkom Innovilage, and student exchanges abroad. In addition, there are also achievements in the fields of art, talent, and sports.
The Dean of FISIP UMSU, Dr. Arifin Saleh, MSP in his remarks said that the Yudisium of FISIP UMSU this time they called it ‘Yudisium of Champions’. The term was coined because of the many judiciary participants who won champions and achievements in various fields while studying as students.
‘They are full of achievements, champions in various fields. Most of the graduates completed their studies in under four years with a GPA of above three. Some of them have also worked, both in private institutions and independent work, that’s why we call it the yudisium of champions,’ said Arifin.
Muhammad Rionaldo S.Sos won two bronze medals at Pimnas 2023, silver medal at Abdidaya 2023, second place in PKM-PM presentation – PTMA 2023, first place in PKM-RSH presentation – PTMA 2023, second place in PKM-K presentation – PTMA 2023, two gold medals at Abdidaya 2022, and a gold medal at Pimnas 2022.
Then, Nurbaiti S.Sos won the Student Business Development Programme Achievement, Yudah Febri Ramanda Rangkuti S.I.Kom Medan City Genre Ambassador in 2022, Rizki Ramadhan S.I.Kom International Credit Transfer in 2022 at University Malaysia Perlis, Farhan Dwi Cahyo S.I.Kom International Champion Sopravista Olympic Art Games – Folklore Dance, Sanya Marcella Chan S.I.Kom won the Silver Medal at the Bandung Lautan Api International Championship IV Pencak Silat Championship.

Furthermore, Dhea Irawati S.AP won second place in Monev PKMTA in 2021, Mhd. Faisal Hafiz S.Sos 3rd place in the Scientific Writing Competition at the 2021 Umsu Student Innovation Creativity Week Competition, Anggun Utami S.I.Kom 1st place in B.Indonesia Debate at Hang Tuah University Surabaya 2022, Muhammad Yusuf Imfazu S.I. Kom 1st place in Social Media Enggament at the International Communication Day 2021 Competition and 1st place for Outstanding Students of LLDikti Region 1 North Sumatra, Annisa Nur Rahmi Dalimunte S.I.Kom 1st place in National Poetry Musicalisation of UAD Senior National Commission Yogyakarta, Hera Febriana Sitepu S.Ikom champion of Banjarmasin National Student Monologue Festival, and M Adam Sauqi S.I.Kom PON SUMUT Athlete in E-Sport 2024.

On that occasion, the three Best Graduates with the highest GPA were asked to convey their impressions and messages while studying at FISIP UMSU. They are Muhammad Rionaldo, S.Sos, Best Graduate of Social Affairs Study Program with a GPA of 3.89, Aidah Hardi Syahputri, S.AP, Best Graduate of IAP Study Program with a GPA of 3.73, and Andi Tri Andini, S.IKom, Best Graduate of IKO Study Program with a GPA of 3.82.
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.AP who attended the activity was also happy and proud of the achievements obtained by the graduation participants while they were students. ‘Achievement does not come suddenly.In addition to the ability of students, it is also thanks to togetherness, thanks to institutional governance by deans, study programmes and the guidance of all lecturers,’ said the Rector in his direction and guidance.

As a form of appreciation, the Rector spontaneously gave gifts and awards to three students who became the best graduates of each study programme. ‘Because of their achievements, they can continue their relevant master’s studies at UMSU Postgraduate with a one-year tuition fee free scholarship,’ he said, which was greeted by the applause of the judiciary participants.
The atmosphere of the Yudisium procession took place solemnly, festively, and with a joyful atmosphere. Apart from being filled with the submission of award certificates to outstanding graduates and outstanding students, the event was also enlivened with songs, including from the UMSU Rector and lecturers with the accompaniment of the UMSU Band.All graduates participating in the Judicium and invitees were immersed in joy and occasionally danced and danced while accompanying each song.
Currently, FISIP UMSU manages three study programmes, namely Social Welfare Study Programme with Excellent Accreditation, Public Administration Study Programme with Excellent Accreditation, and Communication Science Study Programme with Excellent Accreditation.
