The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) conducted the second period of graduation followed by 428 graduates. The event was held on Thursday (12/12) at the UMSU Auditorium on Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan.
The graduates consisted of Management Study Programme (253 graduates), Accounting (134 graduates), Development Economics (26 graduates), and Tax Management (15 graduates).
The event was solemnly attended by UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP. On this occasion, he emphasised the importance of maintaining the good name of the alma mater.
‘Graduates of this era are a tough generation because they are able to complete their education during a pandemic. Hopefully the alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business can be creative and maintain the good name of the alma mater wherever you are,’ he said.
Prof Agussani said that after the judicium, a graduation ceremony would be held with 2,300 graduates participating. He hopes that the number of FEB students will continue to increase and become an evaluation material for mutual progress.
At this moment, UMSU Rector Prof. Agussani together with the Dean of FEB UMSU Dr. H. Januri, SE., MM., M.Si., CM and the vice deans pinned the award sash for graduates with the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) from each study programme. This proud achievement was achieved by Safridayani Harahap (Management), Imam Syuhada (Accounting) to Noval Maulana Polem (Development Economics), Indah Ayu Ningsih (Tax Management).
Outstanding students Yudi Febrianto and Asida Clara conveyed their impressions and messages while studying at UMSU. ‘All of these experiences will be my motivation for the future. Let’s show the best quality of FEB UMSU graduates. Give our best effort, maintain a thirst for knowledge, and hone our potential so that we can become superior graduates compared to those from other universities, ‘they said.
Previously, the Dean of FEB UMSU Dr H. Januri, SE, MM, M.Si, CMA. in his speech, expressed his pride in the graduates and hopes for the future. ‘The construction of a better academic bureau will, God willing, provide the best guidance and services. Today is a day of happiness for all of us. We hope the alumni will keep in touch to advance the faculty and university,’ he said.

This Judicium event is an important momentum to prepare FEB UMSU graduates to face global challenges. With an Islamic spirit and qualified competence, alumni are expected to be able to provide broad benefits to society and the nation.
