Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) achieved a notable national accomplishment by winning four awards at the 2025 Higher Education, Science, and Technology Awards (Anugerah Diktisaintek).
The 2025 Diktisaintek Awards were held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology in Jakarta on Friday (18/12). The event was attended by hundreds of leaders from Higher Education Service Institutions (LLDikti) and universities across Indonesia, and was officially opened by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., accompanied by the Vice Minister, Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd.
UMSU received four prestigious awards: one Gold Award for website management, a Silver Award for social media, a Silver Award for international collaboration, and a Silver Award for community service. These achievements further add to UMSU’s list of accomplishments throughout 2025.
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, expressed his gratitude and pride in the university’s national achievement.
“Alhamdulillah, UMSU has once again achieved outstanding results at the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia,” said the Rector, accompanied by Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Si, after receiving the awards in Jakarta.
He noted that UMSU’s success at the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards continues the achievements of previous years, reflecting the university’s strong commitment to good governance through innovative programs and the collective dedication of its academic community.
“These awards are tangible proof of the hard work of the entire UMSU academic community. We remain committed to continuous innovation and meaningful contributions to the advancement of higher education in Indonesia,” he stated.
The Diktisaintek Awards are an annual national event recognizing higher education institutions for their contributions to education, science, and technology.
“With these achievements, UMSU has further strengthened its position as one of Indonesia’s leading universities,” he added.
Earlier, Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Prof. Brian Yuliarto emphasized that the 2025 Diktisaintek Awards serve as a form of government appreciation for the entire higher education, science, and technology ecosystem—including universities, rectors, lecturers, researchers, industry partners, and the media.

“Each plays a significant role in advancing higher education, science, and technology in Indonesia,” he said during the opening ceremony.

He further stressed that the awards mark not the end of the journey, but a motivation to expand efforts and continue advancing higher education, science, and technology.
“National transformation can occur when knowledge is present within society, especially when it is most needed,” he concluded.
