The Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law & Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia handed over four simple patent certificates to Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) lecturers as patent inventors. This award was given during the Patent One Stop Service event, Wednesday through Thursday (6-7/3), at the USU Scientific Writing and Intellectual Property Rights Innovation Institute.
After being examined by the DJKI for approximately 18 months, four simple patents were granted certificates and deemed eligible to be granted simple patents. DJKI recognizes the creativity and innovation of UMSU lecturers in creating technological solutions that are useful for society. The patent process is submitted through the Intellectual Property Management Center of the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara Lecturers with the Patent Rights holder.
The head of the UMSU Intellectual Property Management Center,, Faisal Riza, S.H., M.H.M.H., said that this success marks the importance of collaboration between universities and government institutions in supporting and protecting innovations produced by Indonesian academics.
The four patents mentioned are Automatic Cassava Chopper Tool Based on Proximity Sensor with inventor by Rimbawati, ST, MT, Dwiki Harfa Mayyastza, Dr. Lita Nasution, SP, M.Si and Zulkifli Siregar, S.T., MT, Integrated Foodstuff Dough Mixer Tool with inventor by Rimbawati, ST, MT, Dwiki Firmansyah, Arya Rudi, ST, MT and Dr. Drs. Mohammad Yus, MT and Dr. Drs. Mohammad Yusri, M, Si, Charcoal or Electric or Gas Fired Toaster with inventors by Rimbawati, ST., MT, Sobri Budiantoro, Permadi Primadana and Muhammad Alqamari, SP., MP and Hot Water Provider from Air Conditioning Engineering with inventors by Chandra Amirsyah Putra Siregar, ST., MT, Faisal Irsan Pasaribu, ST., MT and Dedek Kurniawan Gultom, SE., M.Si.
