The Director of Sharia and Sustainability Finance at Bank Danamon Indonesia, Herry Hykmanto, visited the construction site of Campus IV of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), located on Jalan Dwikora, Pasar VI, Desa Saentis, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, on Saturday (March 7).
During the visit, he expressed appreciation for the rapid progress of the campus development, noting significant improvements compared to his previous visit.
“It is an honor for us to be here. I can see that the construction progress is much faster than it was a year ago when we last visited. God willing, with this level of progress, the results will be excellent for the upcoming Congress,” he said.
He also emphasized that the Islamic banking sector has a strong interest in supporting UMSU’s initiatives and development, including potential collaborations in the future.
“I am confident that many colleagues in Islamic banking are interested in supporting this initiative. I have also conveyed to the Rector our hope to be given the opportunity to participate,” he added.
According to him, the large and strategic location of Campus IV provides strong potential for developing a sustainable ecosystem in the future.
“This is remarkable, as the location is highly adequate and allows for the creation of a sustainable ecosystem,” he noted.
Meanwhile, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.A.P. stated that Bank Danamon Syariah is one of the key partners supporting the development of Islamic economics within Muhammadiyah, particularly in North Sumatra.
“I believe Bank Danamon Syariah is among the leading partners working alongside Muhammadiyah. Moreover, the Director’s presence today is also part of advancing digitalization. We hope Bank Danamon continues to be a leading bank for the community, especially in North Sumatra,” he said.
The Rector also explained that UMSU has established a mini Islamic bank, which serves as a practical learning facility for students studying Islamic banking systems.

“We have a mini Islamic bank that was inaugurated directly by the Director. With the advancement of digitalization, we can further collaborate as part of the Muhammadiyah community, particularly in the sharia sector. This is beneficial for us, as students can gain hands-on experience through this facility,” he explained.
