The Legal Debate Community (Komunitas Debat Hukum/KDH) of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU), held the Closing Ceremony of the National Law Fair 2025 along with the celebration of its 10th Anniversary at the UMSU Auditorium on Saturday (29/11).
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMSU, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faisal, S.H., M.Hum, who expressed his appreciation and announced additional prizes for all delegations. “For each delegation, we are adding Rp1 million each, contributed by three department heads and the dean,” he said.
The Dean also emphasized the spirit of togetherness, stating, “Even though it is simple, the sense of brotherhood and unity must always be maintained.”
Earlier, the President of KDH UMSU, Firzatullah Adrevi, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the Dean’s Office and the entire organizing committee. “This activity is concrete proof that we are capable of organizing a national-scale event. This event is not only a competition, but also a platform for networking and knowledge sharing,” he said.
He also celebrated the community’s milestone of reaching a decade. “Today is an important day for the Legal Debate Community because on November 22, the Legal Debate Community officially marked its 10th anniversary,” he added.
Previously, the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Muhammad Iqbal, stated that this year marked a new chapter in history as the KDH debate competition was held at the national level for the first time.
“Alhamdulillah, this year is the first time KDH has advanced to the national level,” said Iqbal.
He further explained that the event began with a National Seminar themed “Honest and Fair Democracy as a Strategy for Eradicating Corruption in Indonesia,” featuring national legal experts.
The winners of the National Debate Competition were announced as follows:

1st Runner-Up: Team Basilek, Universitas Andalas

Best Speaker: Teguh Pratama, Universitas Trisakti
In the 10th anniversary oration, Wika Suryani delivered a strong message about the role of law students. “Upholding the constitution is not merely about reading or discussing it, but about striving for justice,” she said.
She also reaffirmed the spirit of KDH’s mission, stating, “The Legal Debate Community is not only a place to learn, but a big family that nurtures future leaders.”
The highlight of the event was marked by the ceremonial cutting of the tumpeng by the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMSU, witnessed by department heads, judges, the organizing committee chair, and the President of KDH.
The closing ceremony concluded with musical performances, poetry readings, and a group photo session with all delegations, committee members, and faculty leaders. The event was attended by faculty leadership, lecturers, judges, university delegations from various regions, and all members of KDH UMSU.
