The Accounting Study Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FEB UMSU), has successfully achieved excellent accreditation from the Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Business Management, and Accounting (LAMEMBA).
Based on the decision received on Tuesday (June 20), the excellent accreditation for the Accounting Study Program at FEB UMSU is valid for 5 years, from June 16, 2023, to June 16, 2028. This achievement completes the total number of excellent accreditations in UMSU to ten study programs.
According to the data, the excellent study programs at UMSU are the professional and education programs in medicine, communication, social welfare, Islamic business management, Islamic religious education, Indonesian language education, accounting education, management, and the Accounting Study Program.
UMSU Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, expressed gratitude and congratulations for the excellent accreditation achievement of the Accounting Study Program. However, he reminded that the achieved success should not lead to complacency.
“UMSU must continue to focus on improving the quality of education and academic services because future challenges will be even more demanding,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FEB UMSU, Januri, S.E, M.M, M.Si, expressed gratitude for the joint efforts of the faculty and study program in achieving excellent accreditation for the Accounting Study Program at FEB UMSU.
Excellent accreditation determines the eligibility of a higher education institution based on criteria that refer to the National Standards for Higher Education. Furthermore, it ensures the quality of the university externally, both academically and non-academically, to protect the interests of students and the community.
Higher education institutions with study programs that have achieved excellent accreditation have met several indicators, such as the number of new students in the past five years, the sufficiency of permanent teaching staff, the percentage of on-time graduation, and study success.
