FAI UMSU Lecturer Holds Da’i Training in Karo
Lecturers of the Faculty of Islamic Religion, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FAI UMSU) Dr.Munawir Pasaribu. M.A and Dr.Salman Nasution.M.Ei and, assisted by one student, Aidil Azhar Faisal Lubis, conducted community service (abdimas) in the form of da’i training in Islamic and Muhammadiyah minority areas on Sunday (11/7).
Implementing this da’i training with applicable health protocols so that participants are limited to only five people from each region so that there are only 15 participants.
This activity is also a collaboration between the Muhammadiyah Youth of North Sumatra and the Special Da’wah Institute of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of North Sumatra.
Munawir said that the implementation of this training was a service program carried out by lecturers at the University of Muhammadiyah North Sumatra through the UMSU Institute for Research and Community Service.
“In this training, we take the Kemuhammadiyahan Development Partnership Program (PKPM) scheme specifically in the development of Kemuhammadiyahan. We conduct da’i training in minority areas in three areas, which are centered on training at the Muhammadiyah College Complex in Karo Regency, “said Munawir.
Munawir further said that the areas they fostered were PDPM Karo Regency, PDPM Dairi, and West Pakpak Regency.
“The reason for us is because in this district, one of the preachers and preachers is very minimal, plus Muhammadiyah preachers, so we have a moral responsibility to develop and train preachers with the aim that there will be a replacement for preachers who are old or old,” said Munawir.
Munawir, the Team Leader and Secretary of the Special Da’wah Institute of PWM North Sumatra, explained that Muhammadiyah and all its organs must have a concept and strategy for implementing da’wah.
“So it is very different from the delivery material that we do in urban areas with the delivery material for those who have just entered Islam itself so that they will later be interested in Islam itself,” said Munawir.
In his presentation, Munawir gave more concepts on implementing being a da’i, especially to face pilgrims who still have traditional understanding in their respective regions.
“As da’i, we must understand the psychology of our congregation, not our own. However, it should be noted that the material and purpose of our da’wah must be well delivered to our congregation,” he said.
At the event, the speaker in this training was the chairman of the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership of Karo Regency, Drs. H Erwin Tanjung. M.Pd.
In his presentation, he looked more at what problems occurred in various regions so that the preachers would not be lacking. Erwin revealed that he was very proud that there were new young cadres who would continue the da’wah esptafet in the area so that later, there would be no more obstacles related to the recitation organized by the Muhammadiyah Branch Leaders in Karo, Dairi, and Pakpak.
“In the past, if the recitation occurred on the same day, it would be canceled, one of which was due to the ustad or da’i who would also deliver the lecture,” said Erwin.
Participant representative from Dairi Irwan Purba said he was very grateful for this event so that later they could become reliable da’i in Muhammadiyah and in general for the Muslim community in Dairi.
Meanwhile, Imam from the Karo representative suggested that UMSU, as the best Islamic University in Sumatra, should be able to synergize with the regions, especially those in Karo.
“The hope is that programs and training like this must be followed up so that they give an impression and benefit to the Muslim community in general and Muhammadiyah residents in particular,” he said.
