The Faculty of Law, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, collaborated with the Medan District Attorney in the UMSU Student Friends Prosecutor (JabatMU) program, which was held at the UMSU Auditorium, Jl Kapten Mukhtar Basri Medan, Wednesday (24/3).
The JabatMU is the Kejari program (Medan Attorney), where UMSU students can carry out internship practices at Medan Attorney.
UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, started signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Head of the Medan Kejari Teuku Rahmadsyah SH, MH. and followed by the Dean of the UMSU’s Faculty of Law, Dr. Faisal, SH. M.Hum, Secretary of the Doctoral Program in Law at UMSU Dr. Ida Hanifah, SH. MH, Head of the UMSU Master of Law Study Program, Dr. Alpi Sahari, SH., M.Hum, and Head of the UMSU Notary Masters Study Program, Dr. Adi Mansar, SH, M. Hum.
UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani MAP, in his speech, gave his appreciation to the Head of the Medan District Attorney (Kejari) Teuku Rahmadsyah SH, MH.
“We appreciate the Medan Kejari because this is a form of recognition for UMSU through the Faculty of Law and is a brilliant form of innovation involving students related to the UMSU Student Friends Prosecutor Program,” said the UMSU’s Rector.
The UMSU’s Rector also expressed his gratitude for the appreciation given by the Medan Kejari to UMSU students who made achievements in 2022.
Meanwhile, on the same occasion, the Dean of the UMSU Faculty of Law, Dr. Faisal, SH. M.Hum explained that the JabatMU program would be realized with an internship practice for UMSU Faculty of Law students to the Medan Kejari.
“Insya Allah. God willing, UMSU Law Faculty students will start internships at the Medan State Prosecutor’s Office before Ramadhan 1443 H. Later, they will learn how to process demands, indictments, and the process of transferring prisoners to the Medan State Attorney’s Office,” said Dr. Faisal.
In addition, Dr. Faisal also confirmed that he would continue the Moot Court Competition (IMCC), which competed for the Medan Kajari Cup. “The Internal Moot Court Competition (IMCC), which has been taking place at the Faculty of Law, which has the Medan District Attorney’s Rotating Cup and the UMSU Dean of the Faculty of Law, will continue in the coming years,” he concluded.
