FISIP UMSU Students Implement PHP2D in Prupuk Village, Batubara Regency
In order to contribute to overcoming the social and economic problems of the community during the Covid-19 pandemic, students of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FISIP UMSU) carried out PHP2D (Holistic Program for Village Empowerment and Development) activities in Prupuk Village, Lima Puluh Pesisir District, Batubara Regency, Saturday (28/8).
The activity, also part of the 2021 Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, chose Community Creative Economic Empowerment in Managing Various Crafts Based on Local Wisdom.
Kemas Zidan Arianzi chairs the PHP2D program and is part of the Commissariat Leadership of the Muhammadiyah Student Association (PK IMM) FISIP UMSU. Apart from being followed by students, the launch of this activity was also attended by Abrar Adhani, S.Sos, M.I.Kom as Vice Dean III FISIP UMSU and accompanying lecturers Fadhil Fahlevi, M. IKom and Sigit Hardiyanto, M.IKom. The FISIP delegation was welcomed by the community and the Head of Dusun 6 Prupuk Village, Irham Hakimi, and the Head of Dusun 7 Harunsyah and accompanied by the United Malay Youth Community organization (PMOne).
Kemas Zidan explained that the community group receiving the program and equipment assistance is PMOne (Pemuda et al.). The tools provided include a lathe, gerenda, drill, paint compressor, axe, and machete.
This activity is carried out for six months, from providing production equipment, socialization, and education activities, training and processing, product manufacturing, organizational management, and digital-based marketing processes,” continued Kemas.
In his remarks, Vice Dean III, Abrar Adhani, congratulated and wished success to FISIP UMSU students entrusted by the Ministry of Education and Culture in this program. He hoped to continue contributing and working for the country.
“This is also a form of effort to increase public knowledge and understanding. It is also time for FISIP UMSU students to move and contribute both thoughts and deeds to face the country’s problems,” he explained.
The Prupuk community welcomed this activity positively. They also showed a happy response to getting tools and knowledge. They hope that this activity will continue to be carried out so that it can increase community income.
“The activities provided by FISIP UMSU students will encourage the community to overcome economic problems that are considered difficult during this pandemic,” said Head of Hamlet 7 Harunsyah.
