The Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FK UMSU), held a judicial procession and appointment of young doctors for the 21st batch of medical education study programs. This procession was carried out directly in the UMSU FK Hall – Jl. Gedung Arca No. 53, Medan, Saturday (12/3).
Based on the decision letter read by the Deputy Dean I of FK UMSU, Dr. dr. Nurfadly, MKT determined that 65 students of the undergraduate medical program, through the evaluation results, passed and were entitled to carry out young doctor’s appointments.
In carrying out doctor’s appointments, all students who graduated directly or online make an appointment as young doctors to comply with all provisions, rules, and regulations in the medical world. Besides, they promise to continue to study, appreciate and practice the Indonesian medical code of ethics in every activity.
FK UMSU Holds Judiciary and Appointments of 21st Generation of Young Doctors Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum. At the event, Vice Rector I also expected that all medical students would not be easily satisfied and proud because today’s procession was not the end of medical education.
“In one phase today, related theories in lectures have been completed. It makes us proud, and you all must do the same thing in the next phase. The phase of a more difficult profession to become a practitioner,” said Prof. Arifin.
FK UMSU Holds Judiciary and Appointments of 21st Generation of Young Doctors. Prof Arifin advised that in the phase of becoming a co-assistant doctor or the Doctor’s Professional Education Program (P3D). He highlights hard skills but also needs to pay attention to soft skills, “We must be good at taking the hearts and empathy of our seniors and patients when undergoing P3D. We have to be strong and expect to do our best, which is very good, but never be patronizing.”
The same message and hope were also conveyed by the Head of Deli Serdang Hospital, dr. Hanip Fahri, SpKJ, that running the Medical Professional Education Program (P3D) is not easy, so good student communication is needed.
“Today, we are building a new civilization, young doctors that we will place, and then we will give to the community as excellent students born from UMSU. But, remember, almost two years later, you will all be struggling in teaching hospitals; of course, it will not be easy, so you must be able to communicate and consult so that there are no obstacles, “said dr. Hanip.
FK UMSU Holds Judiciary and Appointments of 21st Generation of Young Doctors Dean of FK UMSU Dr. Siti Masliana Siregar, Sp. ENT-KL(K) also agreed regarding the preparations needed to carry out the next phase. He highlighted that some students who did Co-Assistant or P3D still did not carry out their duties optimally. Therefore, this has become material for discussion and evaluation to optimize Co-Assistant activities so that students as prospective doctors can become professional doctors after completing their education.
“This day is not for excessive celebration because this is still the middle of the road to getting a doctor’s degree in front of your name. Don’t think it’s over because it’s only an S.Ked degree, not a doctor’s. There are still many preparations that must be prepared, namely the next four semesters there are things that must be passed,” the Dean of the UMSU Medical Faculty said.(Pny)
