As many as 34 students of the medical professional education study program at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (FK UMSU), held the 31st batch of medical profession oaths. It was held on Friday (13/1) at the UMSU FK campus, Jalan Gedung Arca, Medan.
The Rector of UMSU was represented by Deputy Rector I of UMSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum in his speech said that actually, the medical profession is very continuous with the legal profession, and if doctors no longer pay attention to the code of ethics, then the law will be the counterpart.
“It is hoped that new medical graduates pay attention to the code of ethics. The constitution also stipulates the rights and obligations of doctors and patients. Doctors are obliged to provide medical services by professional standards and by SOPs and pay attention to the medical needs of patients. Asking for blessings from parents so they can contribute to society,” said Arifin.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FK UMSU, dr. Siti Masliana Siregar, Sp. ENT-KL(K) reminded that while going through the UKMPPD national exam process to graduation, the self-character of UMSU FK students can be formed for the future.
“This is just the first step for our alumni in the future, and after this, we will carry out internships. My message during the internship is to establish good communication with the institution,” said Masliana.
Likewise with the UMSU FK alumni, dr. Ashil Muhammad Abdul Rasyid, a graduate of the UMSU medical education study program, reminded me that the yudisium moment could be a reminder that God’s promises are true.
“In surah Al-Insyirah, Allah says, ‘Verily, with hardship there is ease,’ and Allah promises never to break it. Moreover, all of us today are proof of the accuracy of God’s promise. God does not burden His servants either. So I want today’s moment. We become a reminder of the future. What we have achieved is not our hard work, but because of the contribution of people who love us.” Ashil said.
The Yudisium and doctor’s oath were attended by Deputy Rector I UMSU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M.Hum, Dean of FK UMSU, dr. Siti Masliana Siregar, Sp. ENT-KL(K) and staff, 34 UMSU FK students accompanied by their parents.
