The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara held a judicium on Tuesday (2/7) at the campus auditorium on Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 Medan, attended by 227 graduates from seven study programs.
Based on the Decree (SK) of the Dean of FKIP UMSU, which was read by the Deputy Dean III of UMSU, Dr. Mandra Saragih, S.Pd. The graduates were from Mathematics Study Program 5, Indonesian Language 35, English Education 41, Pancasila and Citizenship 1, Accounting 4, Counseling Guidance 9, and PGSD 132.
On this occasion, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP represented by WR I Prof. Dr. Arifin Gultom, M. Hum, invited all graduates to be grateful for this moment. According to him, students’ success is not solely due to their intelligence but thanks to the grace of Allah Swt and the prayers of parents.
“Keep the good name of our alma mater wherever we will be, facing our daily work,” WR I ordered.
He also said that teachers are scholars whose dignity has now been elevated. So, it is not just a hero without merit but has been changed to how to form people who will lead this nation in the future.
Meanwhile, the Dean of FKIP UMSU, Dra. Hj Syamsuyurnita, M.Pd., represented by WD III Dr. Hj Dewi Kesuma Nst., M.Hum, said that success is not only academic intelligence but is also influenced by social intelligence, such as honesty, courage, communication skills, and adative.
“We need to explore the social intelligence of the city because this value will make us more sociable, liked and accepted by others,” she said.
He emphasized that academic competence and social intelligence must be balanced in facing the world of work.
Then, Akhirunnisa Hasibuan, the best graduate of the PGSD study program, expressed gratitude for achieving a bachelor’s degree. She represented other graduates to express her pride in studying at UMSU.
“I see UMSU as a very supportive campus that facilitates all its students to continue to excel in building their identity and providing the best services to develop their students’ potential,” said Nisa.
She also expressed her gratitude to her parents, who have made efforts to make her a scholar, and to her peers, who have become the best graduates of their respective versions.
The graduation procession was marked by the announcement and sash pinning of the best graduates. Also present were the Heads of Study Programs in FKIP UMSU and Lecturers at FKIP UMSU.
