The leadership of the Commissariat of the Muhammadiyah Student Association of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (PK IMM UMSU) held the closing of the 58th Milad celebration. Previously, a series of events had been held on March 11-17, 2022. The event was held at the UMSU Auditorium – Jl. Kapten Muchtar Basri No. 3 Medan, Friday (18/03).
The closing ceremony, the announcement of the winners of the nine categories of this competition. It was considered a success by the Rector of UMSU, Prof. Agussani, MAP. According to him, IMM cadres’ solidarity and cohesiveness throughout UMSU make this year’s Milad event a success. .
“Today, in the context of IMM’s work throughout UMSU, IMM cadres must appear as the front line, able to compete in academics, arts, and culture or other fields. What is being done today, from year to year, has shown a tremendous improvement,” said Prof. Agussani in his speech.
Commitment to supporting every positive movement of IMM UMSU cadres, he will not intervene for students who are members of IMM throughout UMSU. Not only in academics but in other fields.
Agreeing with what was conveyed by the UMSU’s Rector, Chairman of the North Sumatra IMM DPD M. Arifuddin Bone, SE, said that IMM cadres throughout UMSU should be grateful and proud to have received an extraordinary forum and support from the university.
“I saw that today IMM UMSU cadres have a lot of potentials. Hopefully, with the implementation of the anniversary with the theme of cadre independence, it can provide a place so that the potential of cadres can be channeled properly,” said Arifuddin when closing the Milad series.
He also advised that in interpreting the trilogy and tri-competence, IMM should not only be seen from one phrase but should be interpreted with a calm and sporty mind. In addition, the independence of cadres is needed in the organization’s dynamics, movement, and economy.
Regarding the dynamics and movements, IMM alums who now serve in the Medan City DPRD, Edi Saputra ST, gave their views on the importance of having IMM. He believes IMM is a place to learn and gain knowledge, not as a political tool, because this cannot happen.
“Whatever your position at IMM, just work on it so there won’t be a conflict. I hope you’ll be diligent in IMM as a place for all of you to learn,” said Edi.
Finally, the Chairman of the 58th Milad Committee, Fahmi Yasin, hopes that this year’s Milad can maintain good relations, become a culture in the future, and be an event to improve the quality of IMM UMSU cadres.
The closing events continued with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to outstanding IMM UMSU cadres, competition judges, and winners of nine competitions.
