Prof. Ibnu Hajar, M.Si (LLDIKTI-I North Sumatera) conveyed the Decree for the Professor Appointment to the UMSU Vice Rector II, Prof. Dr. Akrim, M.Pd, conducted on Monday (23/5) in LLDIKTI –I office.
After completing a long process, from compiling files from March 1, 2020, to conduct an assessment on February 24, 2022. At a relatively young age, Prof. Akrim finally officially got the Decree for the Appointment of Professors, which was issued on April 13, 2022, by LLDIKTI Region 1 of North Sumatra. This appointment certainly increases the number of professors at UMSU, which currently has 10 professors.
In 2021, UMSU Rector Prof. Dr. Agussani, MAP, was inaugurated as a Professor and then, in the same year, continued by WR I Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, M. Hum, in 2022, in the next Vice Rector III Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rudianto, M.Si.
Ibnu Hajar appreciates UMSU’s commitment to assembling professors. In his remarks and guidance, the Head of LLDIKTI-I North Sumatera said there was no doubt about UMSU’s extraordinary commitment, support, enthusiasm, and togetherness.
“UMSU has provided delivery to a professor in just a few months. This needs to be a record and an example for us together,” said Prof. Ibn.
Ibnu Hajar said that private and state universities have the same opportunity for the professorship. So, lecturers who have not yet reached professorships can jointly accelerate to achieve professorships because the quality of a university is measured by one of their academics.
The same hope was also conveyed by the Chairman of the UMSU Daily Development Board (BPH), Dr. Bahril Datuk, MM, so that Prof. Akrim d can continue to develop his capacity and quality as a professor at a young age.
“Congratulations, Prof. Akrim. May be blessed with the title of professor. And hopefully, ladies and gentlemen who have become Associate Professors can soon follow suit by taking advantage of the time available, “said Dr. Bahril.
To overcome these expectations, Prof. Akrim said that receiving the Decree for the Appointment of Professors was the highest academic position achievement for a lecturer, which all UMSU lecturers can obtain. “We always say at UMSU that every lecturer has the same right to become a Professor by being facilitated and supported, but he must first become a doctor,” he said.
Prof. Akrim also conveyed the UMSU principle, which gives all lecturers the same opportunity to become Professors. So that in 2022 UMSU can reach 5 Professors and 30 Head Lectors, which will continue in 2023-2024. Therefore, UMSU can promote more Professors.
