On Tuesday (15/8), the Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (UMSU) hosted a visit from Taiwan’s National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to establish international collaboration. The meeting occurred in the UMSU VIP Room at Jalan Muchtar Basri No.3 in Medan. UMSU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Agussani, M.A.P, greeted NCKU’s representatives, while UMSU’s Vice Rector III, Dr. Rudianto, M.Sc., represented the university.

On this occasion, Dr. Rudianto introduced UMSU as a campus in North Sumatra with superior accreditation and collaborated with universities in various countries.
The Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatra Utara boasts a diverse range of faculties and has established partnerships with esteemed universities in countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, and France. During a productive meeting, Dr. Rudianto recently shared his optimistic vision of forging new collaborations with universities in Taiwan. As a result of this fruitful dialogue, representatives from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) were cordially invited to tour UMSU facilities.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Chair of the NCKU International Institute for Geomatics and Engineering, Prof. Chao-Hung Lin, accompanied by the Manager of the Overseas Recruitment and Admissions Division, Melody Tseng, said that NCKU knew UMSU from several acquaintances in Indonesia. Hence, they were interested in visiting and establishing collaboration.
Prof. Chao-Hung expressed his desire to partner with UMSU for various international activities, including scholarships, research projects, student exchanges, and other programs that may require cooperation agreements.
This meeting continued with discussions that resulted in several designs for collaborative programs that could be implemented, such as student exchanges, lecturer visits, research collaborations, and summer courses.

Also attended were the Faculty Leaders, the UMSU OIC Team, the UMSU LPPM Team, the MBKM Team, and the Head of the Bureau within the UMSU Environment.
