Prof. Dr. Muhammad Arifin, S.H, M.Hum, Deputy Rector I of UMSU, who represented the Chancellor of UMSU in his remarks, said that the activities of the International Islamic Astronomy Training Program, like the information I received, would be held in several sessions, a resource person would deliver the first session from OIF UMSU and the second session will be presented by speakers from Malaysia.
“Alhamdulillah, currently, UMSU already has a study program in Astronomy. This can be used so that the study program in Astronomy can be flooded with Astronomy activists who benefit society, especially Muslims, because many activities of Astrology are beneficial. He added that we hope the community can participate in astronomy education at UMSU, “he added.
The first session of the International Islamic Astronomy Training Program was delivered by two UMSU OIF research teams, namely M. Dimas Firdaus, who presented Astrophotography material, and Hariyadi Putraga, who presented Falak Software material.
This activity is in line with the vision of OIF UMSU, which is to become a center for Astronomy that excels in training, research, and cadre at the National and International levels, which combines Islamic treasures and Modern Science based on Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah.
