Causes of Juvenile Delinquency

Adolescence is the phase where a child grows into an adult. The Adolescent Phase is a difficult phase for children where emotional turmoil increases drastically and tends to explode.

Teenagers have enormous curiosity. They are willing to do anything to want to feel and satisfy their curiosity.

With physical characteristics that are the same as adults but have understanding and emotions that are still children, teenagers often make mistakes. This mistake is called juvenile delinquency.

Even though they are just passing through childhood, the problems they cause sometimes exceed those created by adults.

It is not uncommon for teenagers to commit violence, harassment, and even theft.

They do this because of psychological encouragement and the social environment. So if the social environment is good, the adolescent psychology that lacks attention will be the trigger.

Vice versa, if the psychology is good, the environment will damage them. So to prevent and overcome juvenile delinquency, you must read the following series of information:

Causes of Juvenile Delinquency

Identity Crisis

The first cause of juvenile delinquency is an identity crisis. With physical and psychological changes, adolescents tend not to know their identity. The inability of adolescents to recognize themselves encourages them to do everything they do not know or feel.

Self-control

Considering the same level of intelligence and psychology as children, teenagers are still very vulnerable to self-control. Teenagers have limited emotional insight that explodes, so teenagers turn into individuals who act without thinking.

Environment

The most basic cause of juvenile delinquency is environmental factors. The factor that significantly influences and contributes to the discussion this time is the environment of adolescents—good family, school, and even social.

According to research, the better and more support an individual’s environment, the greater the success obtained from that individual.

If raised in a good and caring family, teenagers are reluctant to commit crimes because of family affection and advice.

With a comfortable school and having good role models like a great teacher, teenagers certainly do not want to hurt the teacher’s feelings and will choose to question what is on their minds the teacher rather than do things they do not know the consequences of.

For the latter is the social environment.

When the social environment is very caring and good, teenagers will be reluctant and reluctant to commit crimes. Not only that, if teenagers are used to doing good things, they will refuse to make mischief from the bottom of their hearts.

Because teenagers are afraid to tarnish the good name of their family, school, and social environment.

Here are Tips for Overcoming Juvenile Delinquency

Embedding Values and Norms
Like a teenager is a tree seed, you must water and fertilize them with suitable substances and the right portion.
Then youth will become a good and sturdy tree even though the storm of mischief hits them in the environment where they stand.
Telling the Impact of Actions They Should Avoid
Teenagers are prone to do everything just out of curiosity. By telling them the harmful effects of something, they will no longer be interested in it and will tend to avoid doing it.
If there are community leaders who have experienced the effects of juvenile delinquency, ask the youth to listen to what can be gained from the delinquency. However, it would be best if you always accompanied the youth when they met these community leaders because not all community leaders are wise in conveying their life experiences. If they are not wise, instead of avoiding crime, teenagers will feel attracted to and challenged to do the same thing.
Maintain Closeness
With closeness, teenagers will become open. They will tell everything to those more mature, especially their parents. That way, they will avoid the mischief that they will do.
Provide a Platform for Creativity
Provide a place or means for them to channel their talents. If your teen likes music, then give him an instrument or let him join a music organization. If he likes fighting, follow him into a sport based on martial arts, with the record of instilling the belief that he should only fight or fight when in the ring. This will work because martial arts athletes are never involved in fighting outside the ring. Athletes or people who study martial arts instill in them the belief that they cannot use what is
