PPKI UMSU Speaker of Intellectual Property Seminar at STKIP AL Maksum Langkat
Medan: The Intellectual Property Management Center of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (PPKI UMSU) spoke at an intellectual property seminar at STKIP AL Maksum Langkat, North Sumatra.
Higher Education is an institution that is the basis of scientific activity that has the potential to produce intellectual property (intellectual property), which not only has moral value (moral value) but also has economic value (economic value) that needs to be protected.
On that basis, STKIP AL Maksum Langkat feels the need to equip its academic community with scientific insights related to intellectual property.
As a concrete step towards this effort, STKIP AL Maksum Langkat collaborated with the Intellectual Property Management Center of Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara (PPKI UMSU) to hold a seminar attended by dozens of STKIP AL Maksum Langkat lecturers in Stabat. (3/11/2021).
Chairman of PPKI UMSU, Faisal Riza, SH, MH, in his remarks, said that the purpose of this seminar was to serve all aspects of the public, both the world of University education and the local government sector, regarding the protection of intellectual property.
“PPKI UMSU is very open to cooperating and bridging the wider community in terms of services to the North Sumatra Regional Office of Law and Human Rights for the process of registering existing intellectual property records,” said Faisal Riza accompanied by the Secretary of PPKI UMSU, Dedek Kurniawan Gultom, SE, M. Si.
While the Chairperson of STKIP AL-Maksum Langkat, Dr. Muhammad Sadri, MM, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to PPKI UMSU, who was pleased to establish cooperation and choose STKIP AL-Maksum as one of the partners in order to expand services related to managing intellectual property.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very grateful to UMSU for allowing AL-Maksum to participate in seminars to broaden the scientific insights of lecturers, especially about intellectual property in the fields of research, journals, and copyrighted works, books, and others,” and so on from STKIP Al Maksum academics, “said Muhammad Sadri.
“Until four years STKIP AL-Maksum was established, we already have 1500 students from Langkat. We also hope that the program cooperation from UMSU Medan will continue. After all, we are ready to continue collaborating in the world of Education because we know UMSU is the best campus on the island of Sumatra with accreditation; of course, we are very idolized, “he said.
This seminar activity presented speakers from the North Sumatra Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights and the Director General of Strengthening Research and Development of the Ministry of Research and Technology-BRIN.
After the presentation of the material, the event continued with a question-and-answer session between the speakers and the seminar participants.
At the end of the series of events, the MoU was signed between PPKI UMSU and STKIP AL-Maksum. (*)
